-He twirls his staff and slams it down, drawing upon energy within himself, imagining burning all the maggots away-

Mossdeep - Past

Regina: -Is taken off guard by the storm of faces, and dodges and twirls away from a few, but one catches her from behind and knocks her into another, which blows her back into the air- <Ugh!! What.. what is that??> -She twirls in the air, calling down a flurry of Thunderbolts-

Okay. Just keep in touch. I trust you two to handle yourselves.

-As Eskay blocks the swords, they are redirected behind him, and Jacob bursts out of the still settling dust cloud, holding two replicas of the swords that were just thrown and slams into Eskay with a harsh and heavy horizontal slash, trying to knock his guard aside-

Levi actually gets a proper look at Steven and his sentence stops in his tracks.

He slowly scans Steven from head to toe as his typical jolly smile fades into a nasty scowl. Pyroar snarls and puts a paw forward, Scolipeedle rears into a position that looks like she'll spit acid at the first word.

Vyvyan: -Walking over to Levi- Levi, wait. Not now.

Jacob: -He turns and bashes his fist through a monitor on the wall, raking his arm against shattered glass- "..."

"..."

-He lets the pain ground him and block out the voices-

-There's an odd pulsing in the monitor-

-He draws his arm back, the silence and pain keeping his head steady. He whips his arm, shaking the blood off, and heads back forward-

Psyche rises from the floor, arm bleeding, mirroring Jacob's wound. "...That hurt, Jacob... W-why would you do that to me? Haven't I been hurt enough? You're the worst healer I've ever met. Sorry... That's right, you're not a healer. You're never going to be a healer. All you know how to do is destroy, isn't that right?"

Jacob: "..." -He looks at her arm-

"Sadly, yes. I don't know how to heal. All I know how to do is take pain for others."

-He tears a piece of his robe's skirt off and wraps it around Psyche's arm-

"But I can't take all the pain for everyone. It hurts for now, but it'll be better soon. I promise. I'm going to do my best."

Toriscape - Yesterday(?)

Blitz? Mom? Lane?

-Tori keeps walking-

-She tries not to look at the pictures of the corpses-

-She pauses at the picture of the metal face, and starts walking faster as she tries not to remember the first time she saw it in the dirt-

I thought this wasn't my mind, what's with that??

Ever Grande - Nowish

Blitz is in the Pokecenter's guest kitchen portioning bits of dough from a bowl onto a baking sheet when Tori comes in

Blitz: "Oh, hey Tori. What's up?"

Tori: "Just getting a sandwich. Didn't think you'd be baking today, something special going on?"

Blitz: "Just seemed like a good day for chocolate chip cookies"

-He shrugs, and pulls one baking sheet full of baked treats out of the oven and sets it on the counter to cool while he puts the sheet with the raw dough balls into the oven and sets a timer-

"I kinda figured I'd share, if you want some? Might be a little hot right now though"

Tori: "Sure, thanks"

-Tori starts pulling sandwich supplies out of the refrigerator while Blitz starts washing the now empty bowl and assorted baking untensils. The both work in relative silence for a few minutes before Tori finally speaks up again-

"You know, I was talking to Mom and Dad the other day, they said they haven't seen you for a while..."

Blitz: "Uh... Yeah I guess I probably should visit them sometime"

Tori: "They still think you and Sakura are looking for a cure to your condition."

Blitz: "...Oh"

-A few more moments of now-awkward silence pass as Blitz dries his hands and things he washed-

Tori: "I don't blame you for not talking to them much about the J-team stuff. I haven't told them about that kidnapping yet either. But it seems like you've been kinda secretive since joining the J-team"

-Beat-

"You know you can share anything with me... Right?"

Blitz: "Yeah... Sorry, guess I've had a lot on my plate this year."

Tori: "So, if there's anything you want to share, just say something to your little sister. Okay?"

Blitz: "I'll keep that in mind"

-Tori looks about ready to say something about the non-committal response, but the timer for the oven goes off-

"I'd better get that, but the others ought to be cool by now"

-Blitz brought some cookies back with him, possibly to the same room Sakura was showing off her costume in-

-Tori, carrying a sandwich and plate of cookies, looks curiously through the door and pauses at the sight of Lane holding a sniffly Ignia-

"Hey, everything okay in here?"

-She sets her food on a convenient bedside table-

"... She doesn't control you." -He musters as much confidence as he can to speak the words he barely understands-

Psyche looks up into Jacob's eyes, fear in her eyes. "If she's not controlling us, then why did you kill me? I trusted you, Jacob. I TRUSTED YOU!"

Jacob: -He takes a deep breath- "... To protect you. You'll just need to trust me for a little bit longer." -He walks past her and pats her head as he does so-

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I need to get back to saving you, or die trying."

Psyche howls. "YOU'LL KILL THEM IRIDIS, DON'T THINK YOU WON'T. YOU'LL WATCH YOUR FRIENDS DIE 1000000 DEATHS AND YOU'LL BE TO BLAME. AND SHE WON'T LET YOU WASH YOUR HANDS OF IT BY DYING. THE CURSE OF THE SURVIVOR IS YOURS AND YOURS ALONE."

-Iggy continues to snuffle as Lane comfortpats-

Jacob: -Turns back to her and shrugs- "Okay then. If that's how it's gonna be, let it. If I have to bear the burden of every life I fail to save so be it. You won't break me. Stronger than you have tried."

-He turns back around, flicking the blood off his arm again- "Psyche. You should sleep a bit while I work."

Mossdeep, past

-Watching since we were a bit slow leaving the Space Center-

Muddy: <Tagg, shouldn't we be getting involved?>

Best if we don't for now, it'll just make things worse.

Mossdeep — Past

-Zinnia's eyes widen-

Zinnia: ...So you're...

-She shakes her head-

Zinnia: Even so... it's more than just destiny. It's a promise to a friend. And regardless of what you think, I'm keeping my promise. Disagree if you want, but if you're not changing your mind, know that I'm not either.

-Eskay is indeed caught off guard and is knocked aside. He nearly drops the sword, but quickly creates an Obscura chain binding it to his hand.-

Eskay: Grr...

-He regains his balance and swings the sword at Jacob, throwing it but holding onto the chain connecting it and his hand-

-Meanwhile, Regina manages to strike the largest Obscura blob, earning a horrid screech from it. Dvorak's Leaf Blade, on the other hand, goes through the smaller one harmlessly as it reforms into one single entity. As well, Beekay's melts out of his mouth, possibly leaving an unpleasant taste but otherwise both parties are unharmed by it.-

-Steven steps back, cautiously holding his hand over a Pokeball-

-the two of them are here, curled up in bed. Munn, unusually, has gone to sleep before Joseph, facing away from the white-haired boy as he snoozes-

-Joseph looks over his shoulder to see if Munn is awake; seeing that he isn't, he smiles and sits up in bed, looking up at the ceiling, and whispers:-

Joseph: Don't think I don't know what you're doing, you miserable bastard.

-the subject of that is unknown, but-

Joseph: Bullshit it's unknown. I'm talking to you.

Joseph: You. You're making up for the loneliness and need for other people you don't want to admit you have by whining for attention in your RP by gauging interest for an arc that you don't seem to want to continue.

They seem more vulnerable to energy based attacks!

-As she lands she twirls from a few Nightshades, and hurls a Shadow Ball at the large blob-

-The eerie wailing does take its toll on her, however-
