-He waves and closes his journal after removing the berry-

-Phosphora's head pops up from the stairwell, looking around.-

Phosphora: Uuuuuuuh...

-Someone out of sight gives her a shove. After steadying herself, she shoots them a look of pure lightning.-

Ludmilla: Much better than you, I believe.

-Ludmilla takes a bite out of the berry she was tossing. Oddly enough, no juice seems to dribble or otherwise leave either the berry or her mouth.-

"What happened with that chick back in the Armoury though? The one with the Guns Akimbo?"

"Let's just say things happened."

Shade chuckles softly.

Sunny walks over to Des and licks him.

(Unfortunately for Mary, Belinda is used to people trying to sneak up on her.)

"Going for the ultimate challenge huh?" he chuckled

"Yeah, his nervous, but it's not just because it's you he's dealing with. Lucius, he did brutal things as a Shadow Pokémon, how do you think that affected him? He's so afraid that he might lose his cool and hurt somebody, he's trying his best to avoid arguments, fights, any sort of conflict, even though even before that he was already very cool-headed."

She sighs

"So whenever somebody like me or you tries to get him to do something, he just rolls with it to avoid an disagreement, or does a small objection then goes with it anyway. He's really restraining himself even though he doesn't really need to."

Sootopolis

Des chuckles and pets Sunny more.

"That's probably all the hardship."

"So Shade...I don't know much about an enigmatic fellow like you. Perhaps you can shed some light on your background?"

-Mary squeaks!-

-Ludmilla strikes Jacob across the cheek with her free hand. No, not a slap - a slap stings. This was a strike. This was made to give Jacob's bones a good shaking. And Ludmilla doesn't look like she had done anything aside pat him on the shoulder as she swallows her last bite of Pecha.-

Ludmilla: He's the kind of man who asks a woman like me to smack some sense into you.

-Phosphora sees Dane, and freezes. She fidgets back and forth on her feet before an unseen hand shoves her forward again. She takes a deep breathe.-

Phosphora: ~C'mon, Phosphora, you did cheerleading for four freaking years, how is having a meal with one non-family member giving you the nerves?~

-She walks up to Dane, a little trepidation spilling out into her walk and eye contact.-

Phosphora: Uh... h-hey, Dane!

Belinda: Oh, really? 'Cuz you seem like someone with something they're trying to hide.

"There really isn't much to tell. Raised on my grandparents Pokemon ranch, was born to a successful fashion designer and inventor. Born in Kalos, raised in Kanto. Specifically Fuchsia city. Everything else you know. I guess from your point of view I'm the enigma that hides in plain site."

Jacob: "GWAOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!" -Staggers over to the side a little bit, and rights himself, rubbing his cheek as it begins to bruise-

-Dane instantly goes nice and red as the flower particlizes.-

Dane:O-Oh! P-Phosphora!

Lucius's brow furrows with concern.

Lucius: I understand, but... again, what do you want me to do about it? I've seen what he can do when he cuts loose, and it scares me. Even if it didn't, I can't just tell him "stop being a pushover". If anything, the inherent contradiction would just make things worse. I want to help Duke recover, I really do, but... there's still obstacles in the way, and so far everything I've done to try and get rid of them has only added more.

Bishop, who has been sitting and listening quietly for the entire conversation, decides to speak up.

Bishop: <Perhaps I should talk to him at some point. I had much the same problem in the past.>

What would you suggest Ever?

I use you guys as bait to lure him out of his likely reinforced base so that I can blow his brains out from range with a sniper rifle? He'd probably survive it like Leng did and then kill or seriously injure you all because the universe runs on what makes a good story, and that doesn't count as one. Plus, I don't really want to kill him anyway since I'd like to at least give someone a chance to exist in this world.

We all mob him at once? He likely has contingencies for that and I bet no matter what we do it'll be me and Sol fighting him alone in the end anyway.

Talk him down? He is hellbent on taking my head and making it a trophy, talking hasn't and won't work. Especially after Ilya ate Odin.

Use a Jammer? Lex has Aura Jammer Jammers.

Sic my mons on him? His mons are roughly as strong as mine, and some are far more experienced, so it'll be our last battle all over again. Muddy, Draca, and Steel won't be dead this time, and Sol and I didn't sustain those injuries Shaka mentioned, but we'd still likely lose or take casualties.

Use a legendary? I refuse to summon one of them to deal with something that's not on the level of a Glitch.

Trickery? He underestimated me twice because I lack his raw power and he's a racist shit and paid for it severely, it won't happen again.

Unfortunately it would appear that despite their dangers the Gates are my best best for reaching parity with Constantin.
