Inside the Neo Flare Base.

It seems that the place they landed in is filled with a bunch of strange machines and prototypes.

Inside Neo-Flare

Brie: Ooh, what's this?

-she peers at a random machine-

Skyfire: <I wouldn't touch it.>

Inside the Neo Flare base.

The machine appears to be some sort of odd generator thing. Next to it are some old, tea stained papers that are almost illegible but recognisable blueprints and notes of sorts.

They seem to be before your time...

Inside Neo-Flare

-Brie examines the paper-

Brie: Ugh, mirar a este duele mis ojos...

Skyfire: <Should I just burn them?>

Brie: I'd rather you didn't.

Inside Neo Flare

Some familiar mumbling and grumbling echoes from not far away.

Brie: Oh no.

-she recalls Skyfire, and then dives behind the generator-looking machine-

Mossdeep

-A boy wearing the male equivalent of the Aroma Lady's outfit is sitting on a park bench with a male Roselia-

Max walked a ways through the city, mildly gawking at everything he sees, the whole time making his way for the huge building he was assuming was the space center, his Feraligatr trudging behind him. Even the big blue pokemon was pretty impressed with everything he was seeing.

<Personally could do without the salt in the air. More a fresh water kind of guy myself, but hey, I won't complain.>

"Man it's been a long time since I could still smell the ocean while I was on land. I mean, I didn't get it much in town when I was a kid you know, but me and my parents would go on a vacation to the beaches down past Mauville alot...wonder how they're doing."

Mossdeep City

-A boy in a red jacket and some blue jeans walks by the park and the Roselia boy, a Galvantula right behind him-

Era: grumble grumble... Stupid Space Center people, not letting me climb the building... I'd be fine, but noOoOo, bad examples and whatever... grumble...

Xira: <You can always try again tomorrow! :3>

Inside Neo Flare.

It seems our lily-livered scientist from earlier has come back, ditching the black and red trimmed Flare labcoat for a thick and plushy black tank top and some matching long pants.

Lex: -In a mocking tone- "Work for Flare" they said. "It'll be easy" they said.

He presses a button on one of his other machines.

Lex: Take a left turn at [Albuquerque] and suddenly you find yourself overworked on projects that you really don't want to partake in but have to for your own safety and then find yourself being attacked by some vigilante justice group who is going to compromise your situation rather than actually help you even when you try to be nice.

What should they care? They don't know your personal situation, as far as they know your just some morally reprehensible Mad Scientist hellbent on ending the world, any harm that comes your way is tough nuts.

He grabs the mug at the end of the strange machine from earlier, now filled with warm and frothy hot cocoa.

Lex: Ah, tres bien~

He takes a sip and looks back at the generator. Grabbing a screwdriver on the table.

Lex: Now, this thing. Would be a lot easier to get running if I could peek at the Sea Mauville models

-The boy overhears a bit of the conversation-

Hajime: "...Wonder what that's about."

Buddy: <Something to be cautious about, presumably.>

Mossdeep — Past

-Myra is knocked out by the Night Slash. Everest manages to hang in relatively well, on the other hand.-

Everest: <Gah!>

Sarah: Superpower!

-Everest uses an excessive amount of strength to lift Aurelia up and slam her into the ground full-force. Meanwhile, Eskay recalls Myra and sends out an Ursaring gripping a Toxic Orb.-

Banjo the Ursaring: <THE CALL TO ARMS HAS SUMMONED MEEEEEEEEEE>

Eskay: Speaking of arms, use Hammer Arm on the Greninja!

-Banjo shouts incomprehensibly as he SLAMS his arms directly into Higure, the Toxic Orb starting to take effect.-

"Oh, hey, that guy has a Galvantula too! Not often you see those in Hoenn. Or, well, it wasn't, maybe they're more common now? I hear Hoenn started trading with Kalos."

Inside Neo-Flare Lab

Brie: Aww, now I feel bad for him. And have a sudden craving for Doritos...

-she makes a Stealth check to peek cautiously around the machine she's hiding behind to get a better look at what Lex is up to-

Mossdeep City - Past

Aurelia: (is tossed to floor like ragdoll) <...Okay. Playtime's over now, is it?>

Higure: (is basically flat on ground) <...Ow...>

Era: -sweatdrops- I'm in over my head, aren't I? Rel, one more Acrobatics on Scolipede! Higure, Power Up Punch on Ursaring, then get the heck out the way!

Higure: (pained) <...aye...> (punches, then gets the heck out of the way)

Aurelia: <Stop... Moving... Around... Already! Makes it harder to climb!> (is all Acrobatic and junk)

Mossdeep - Present Day

Hearing the trainer with the Feraligatr say something about Galvantula, Era turns to him, snapping out of his grumbling.

Era: Oh, yeah! Galvantula's native to where I'm from, though, so she's an old friend of mine.

"Huh?" Max hadn't expected the other person to hear him, not having realized he was talking that loudly. "Oh, so you're um, you're from Unova then?" In his surprise his voice slipped a little, exposing his distinctly Hoennese accent.

<Oh no, here it goes.> Lockjaw knows what happens when Max's accent slips out, and its usually pretty hilarious.

Mossdeep City, inside the Neo-Flare base

-Pianis is hiding behind another machine, while Siren has gone invisible again-

Pianis: I almost feel sorry for him.

Siren: ~He's still a bad guy, you know.~

-Everest is knocked down to his last legs. Which is significant because he, being a centipede, has a lot of legs.-

Everest: <Hrk... I can still do this...>

Sarah: Once more!

-Using the last bits of his strength, he slams Aurelia again-

Banjo: <AH! You cannot match the strength of a true warrior like that!>

Eskay: Now you can do the usual thing.

-With an incredible surge of power stemming from the poison damage he's taking, Banjo lunges at Higure, glowing purple.-

Mossdeep

Hajime: "Huh, someone from elsewhere in Hoenn. Granted, that's the case for several people we've seen."

Mossdeep - Past

Aurelia: -Is welcomed to the Jam- <...Playtime's done...Naptime...>

Higure]: <...Too...slow...> Even as tired as Higure is, it's still the fastest Water-type out there, while Ursaring is, well... Ursaring. <Can't keep this up forever...>

Era: Hm. One more Pokémon to choose... Xira, come on out!

Out comes a Galvantula!

Xira: <Battle! Excitement!>

Era: Power-Up Punch again, Higure! Xira, Edit typed Volt Switch, meant Thunder on Scolipede!

Higure: <...punch...yeah...> (punches, with more power from the last Power-Up Punch)

Xira: <Zap! :3> Thunder crashes from the otherwise clear night, and lightning strikes the big ol' bug. Yours, not mine.

Mossdeep - Present

Era: Yup! Got into town about a week ago from Castelia! You from around here? Your accent keeps bouncing around, I can't really place it.

"Oh, uh, no, my um, my dad was from the West side, near the desert, but um." Max was floundering, trying to get his voice back to normal, eventually swallowing hard and clearing his throat. "Sorry about that. Sometimes when I'm surprised it sort of slips out. I try to keep it under wraps most of the time though, it sounds a little ridiculous."

<How are you so bad at lying sometimes, you used to make a career out of it.>

"Anyway, I personally got my Galvantula a couple of years back. Caught her as a Joltik but she evolved pretty fast."

Mossdeep - present

Era: I don't really see the problem with your accent, but hey, to each their own. I've had Xira for a good long while. We were gonna try and climb the Space Center building today, but the people inside keep shutting us down before we can get anywhere. It's kind of frustrating. Not much else to climb here except trees.

Xira: <Climbing buildings with Era's always an adventure!>

-Gogie is currently looking at the small amount of hair on his head in the mirror-

Gogie: "Hm... really feels weird without head hair.
At least it seems to be growing back some, though."

Hazard: <Couldn't you just go back to being a Mightyena until it's back, Chief?>

Gogie: "Eh, I don't think it works like that.
That, and I might need to handle this or next Gym and what'll we do then?"

Tale: <Eh, you look better without it.>

Gogie: "...I dunno how much to trust that from someone who doesn't have it."

Tale: <Eh, even with some, you'd look better with it short, Aiki.>

Gogie: "Mmm..."

"Hazard?"

Hazard: <Well, I kind of know you better with your old length, but... I guess whatever's good with you.>

Gogie: "Hm..."

...Well, sure sounded like Ghostus didn't like it like this at least...

"You tried to climb it? Well that's ridiculous the windows are so far apart fro each other vertically you'd need climbing gear, and no place is going to let you plunge a stone pick into the face of their building. Or I guess you could use Galvantula's Elctro-webs to do it but you'd need insulated shoes and gloves for that, and they'd have to buckle on REALLY tight." Max shakes his head, looking at the building. "No, best way in if you want to get to the top fast, my bet, is that there's some kind of employee entrance with it's own elevator, which would probably be an express one too."
