Maria:Well...it's the original [Japanese] version of [The Grudge]...it's about this girl who gets killed....and turns into this sort of...Delta Gothitelle with looooooooong hair...and she moves from person to person killing them...like a neverending curse.

-Somehow Sinbad's barrel is knocked over in the sailor's rush to abandon ship-

-It rolls overboard and bobs along just above the water's surface with a soggy and dizzy Sandslash still inside it-

Fortree - Yesterday Morning

-Fletcha is talking to a Nurse Joy about the Skarmory-

Nurse Joy: "Your Skarmory has made a complete recovery, it was a good thing you brought it in when you did."

Fletcha: "Thanks, it's not actually my Pokemon, uhh, but still thanks."

-He walks out and makes his way to to the edge of Fortree City-

-He then immediately releases the Skarmory from its Pokeball and his control-

"Alright, you should be good to go, healed up and whatnot."

Skarmory: -stretches its wings- <Thank you... Sorry I was so terse yesterday. I'm not against joining with a trainer, just not in those circumstances.>

Fletcha: -he chuckles- "No problem whatsoever..."

-beat-

"Uhh, would you want to join me right now?" -he asks awkwardly-

Skarmory: <I was wondering if you were going to ask me that or not.>

<I thought about it and made up my mind earlier...yes, but after a quick battle. I want to see how well your current Pokemon are trained first hand.>

Fletcha: -sending out George- "Heh, fair enough."

-One battle and capture later-

-Fletcha sends out the newly captured Skarmory and Brandon-

Fletcha: "I know everyone has already met, but say hi to the newest member of our team..."

-!-

"Uhh sorry I've never asked for your name before, if you a have one..."

Skarmory: <I prefer to be called Skarlet, with a k.>

<And I don't recall hearing yours before either, so don't worry about it> -she smiles-

Brandon: <Hi again Skarlet! His name is Fletcha, and I'm Brandon, and over there's George.>

George: <Heh, nice to have you join us.>

-to Fletcha- <We goin' to train some now or what?>

Fletcha: "Sure, if everyone's good with that."

-Nobody raises any objections so they head out down Route 119 to train-

Mezzo: I feel like I just stepped into the Forest Temple... There are even windmills all over the place.

-She sends out a Swellow-

-Mezzo does a double take-

Mezzo: Wait, she's a Flying leader?

-she looks at the windmills again-

Mezzo: Actually... that's not that bad. Comparatively.

Ever: -shrugs- Well, if you say so.

-he sends out Ephemera-

Ever: Thunderbolt.

Ephemera: -sends a line of dust out, a Magnezone appearing in the air next to the Swellow and launching a bolt of electricity at it-

Fortree Gym

-The Swellow is struck by the Thunderbolt,t aking a good amount of damage-

Swellow: <Aagh! What was that! You used to use a dirt Heliolisk and now you're using a Magnezone! My opinion of you has forever been tarnished!>

-She tries to use U-Turn on Ephemera, then return to her ball-

Fortree City Gym

Ephemera: -yowls as the attack hits and rolls away, hissing as she erects a series of dust-copies around herself and shuffles into them-

Fortree Gym

Winona: "Hm..."

"Go, Altaria!"

-An Altaria is sent out-

Altaria: <ohio! their sure are takusan of yuo!>

-The Altaria uses Aerial Ace-

Ephemera: -yelps, and is dropped to the red-

Ever: Disarming Voice!
