Eskay: Aaaanyway... the amulet kinda got caught in the crossfire. As well as one of her dresses.

Sarah: Like it or not, you actually looked darn cute in that dress.

Eskay: We never did agree whether that's narcissistic to say or not.

Pianis: Last time I was here, I only got to see the eastern half of this region. So I wanted to see if there was anything interesting around here.

Announcer: Welcome, ladies and gentlemen! Today is a fine day for our Cuteness Contest! And today, we have a few special guests here on stage! Our first entrant is contest star Lisia, with her Altaria Ali!

Lisia: -poses- Thank you, thank you!

-Ali pops out from under the stage, scattering flower petals everywhere-

Ali: -trills-

-which elicits a roar of applause from the crowd-

Announcer: Entrant number 2 is Fortree City's elegant Gym Leader, Winona, and her Altaria!

Winona: Truly, it is an honor to be here today.

-Winona's Altaria makes her entrance by dropping down from the ceiling and creating a windstorm that stirs up the flower petals Lisia threw-

-the crowd applauds, but not quite as loudly-

Announcer: Our third entrant is none other than Drake, the dragon tamer of the Elite Four! He's here today with his Altaria! Give him a hand, everyone!

Drake: Aye, it's good to be here.

-a burst of light appears as Drake's Altaria flies across the crowd, scattering sparks in her wake-

-the crowd lets out a collective gasp-

Announcer: And our last entrant comes from the prestigious J-Team! It's everyone's favorite Elite Four wannabe, Fortissimo! She's entering with her Altaria, Lakitu!

Fortis: Oh my gosh!

-Fortis leaps upward and Lakitu swoops in to catch her, then flies her around the stage before coming in for a gentle landing; Fortis hugs him and gets off-

-This elicits a few "Awww"s from the crowd, a handful of "boo"s from disgruntled hoteliers, and a loud cheer from a green-haired girl waving a flag with a lowercase "ff"◊ on it-

Noelle: Come on, Fortis! You can do it!

Announcer: Oh my! All four contestants entered with the same Pokémon! But which one of them will be able to capture the hearts of the audience? Let's find out! Let the contest begin!

-Greninja!Blitz shrugs as he starts to follow Fletcha out-

<You're paying for it, so you can pick. I've tried shopping as a pokemon a few times, it doesn't work very well>

-another green-haired girl is watching, and is taking very careful notes in a small notebook based on her observations-

Deziree: Actually it's got nothing to do with you two. Or maybe it does. I'm not sure yet!

-Dune blinks.-

Dune: The amulet got copied?

Deziree: Ooooooooooo, really?!

Iri Manor

Sarah: Well, um, sort of...

Eskay: The, erm, shell got copied. The rest... kind of got divided between the two.

Iri Manor

Deziree: ... What.

-She holds out her hands.-

Deziree: I need to see this.

-It's really hard to tell what exact mood she's in right now. She seems to be a bottled swirl of confusion, befuddlement, and trepidation.-

Iri Manor

-The twins glance at each other again, and remove their respective amulet copies to give to Dezi.-

Iri Manor

-Deziree takes each of the amulets and fiddles with them for a bit. Eventually she takes out a laser pointer and flashes it into each of the crystals along certain patterns. For half of the first crystal, it shows lines sprawled out inside of it, like the blood vessels of an eye. The other half just refracts the light like a crystal. The same happens to the other crystal, but with the sides reversed.-

Deziree: Th-the crystals were completely cut in half...

Dune: Uh... Dezi?

Deziree: ...

...

*twitch*

Dune: Uh oh.

-The two Amarins get the distinct feeling they should be running away very quickly right about now. They both turn about as pale as a ghost. A pair of ghosts. Almost identical ghosts.-

-Because they're actually hiding under their bed.-

Sarah: Eskay, you're radiating terror. Please stop radiating terror. It's making me even more scared than I already am.

Eskay: Y-you know I can't help it!

Route 111, desert

Zeal: N-Noel!

-Noel readies a Fire Punch, but the Scizor jumps out of the way. Zeal pushes himself to his feet as Noel stands in front of him, ready to block the Scizor's strike.-

Scizor: <   On my honor...   >

-The Scizor uses Bullet Punch. Noel isn't able to stop it, and Zeal is knocked back to the ground again, his bruises limiting his movement further.-

Zeal: D-damn... wh-what now?!

-Noel quickly uses Night Shade. The mirage Noel creates distracts the Scizor long enough for Zeal to stumble behind a large rock and out of its sight.-

Zeal: I'm safe, but for how long? It can't possibly... that's a Scizor, this sandstorm's not going to be any problem for it. What is there for me to do from here?!

-As the Scizor sees through the Night Shade's illusion and resumes its search, Zeal tries to avoid moving at all.-

Zeal: Is this it? Am I dead?

-Loud tromping follows the aura of indignant anger as Deziree goes around opening every door she can.-

*SLAM!*

-Empty room.-

*SLAM!*

-Another empty room.-

*SLAM!*

-Yet another empty room.-

*SLAM!*

Deziree: *Blink*

-Not an empty room.-

-There is a squeak and a squeak from a nearby room.-

-Pianis continues walking through the tunnel, catching the attention of a red-haired boy-

Matthew: Hey! What do you think you're doing here?

Pianis: What?

Lisia: You're up first, Ali! Sing for them!

Ali: <All right~>

-Ali trills and sings a short melody-

Announcer: What a cute move! The crowd's anticipation is swelling!

Winona: Astonish!

-Winona's Altaria sneaks up behind Ali and pecks him on the head-

Ali: <Eep!> -flinches-

Winona's Altaria: <Hehehe~>

-which elicits more "aww"s from the crowd-

Drake: Let's prepare ourselves. Dragon Dance.

Drake's Altaria: <I am ready!> -performs a rhythmic dance by flying in circles-

Fortis: Use Attract!

Lakitu: <Do I have to...?>

Fortis: Uh huh! You want to show the crowd that you're the cutest cotton birdie!

Lakitu: <Okay...>

-Lakitu turns toward the crowd and does his best attempt at a seductive pose, sending a pink heart floating out over them-

-this causes another loud cheer-

Announcer: Just look at all the wonderful cuteness on display here!

Noelle: All right, Fortis!

Deziree: *twitch*

-Deziree goes over and slams the door open.-

Deziree: Ah HA-

*SLAM!*

Dune: Ah HAH!

-Deziree is talked longside by a flying boyfriend, knocking the wind out of her. A Swampert and Jolteon quickly follow with ropes and a burlap sack.-

-Several seconds pass, before the twins poke their heads out from under the bed.-

Sarah: ...Can we come out now?
