Tori: "I doubt there's anything we can do there. I think he's trying to use this "rivalry" thing to get Maria to feel like she can take care of herself, but I don't get what his plan is"

-Blitz quietly walks up near the group behind Ren-

Blitz: "Oh, is someone learning how to talk?"

Lane:Yeah...but what about in general? I don't like seeing my sister so depressed...it makes me depressed...makes me feel useless.

-Ren and Kitsune are nonplussed by Blitz's appearance - this is the man who mentors Joseph in contests and his signature partner/ girlfriend after all. Rio, being a Lucario noticed Blitz long ago. Conifer squeaks a bit at Blitz's arrival, but quickly calms back down and returns her attention back to Pleth.-

Ren: -to Blitz- Yep. She's has trouble with words more than one syllable long, but she's coming along fine.

-Alys sits in her office, looking rather concerned. She smokes her cigarette-

Alys: And you say you haven't seen them, soleil?

-Juliet flinches-

Juliet: Yes, Alys. After the power surge, I haven't seen them. And usually you can hear her, but...apparently not.

-Alys takes a long drag-

Alys: ...come to mention it, I felt something at about that time.

Juliet: ...oh?

Alys: Emotional agony. And I mean agony, I haven't felt it from anyone since...a couple weeks ago.

Juliet: What was a couple weeks ago?

-Alys smirks her creepy Alys smirk-

Alys: That's nothing you need to know, soleil.

Juliet: Don't call me that.

Alys: Very well, mon potiron tarte.

-Juliet hisses-

Ren: Raising a new partner generally is.

-Ren notices Ammon.-

-She tries to follow too-

-Blitz gives the Arcanine next to him a pat-

Blitz: "This is Ammon, he's my starter. And he helps me stay out of trouble when it gets dark"

-Ammon nods-

Ammon: <Nice to meet you>

-Maria tries to run faster, but ends up tripping. She isn't making much of an effort to get up quickly.-

Lane:Sis...

Maria:I'm...fine...

-She continues to slowly push herself up.

-Out of habit more than anything, Ren pats Ammon, inspecting the Arcanine's coat, mane, and tail for sheen and smoothness.-

-Tori has caught up, but isn't really sure what to say-

Tori: "Uhm..."

-Ren might notice Ammon's coat is decently groomed and might have a slight sheen to it. Though it's probably clear he spends most of his time battling and being ridden, not coordinating-

Ammon: <Do you inspect ever pokemon you meet like this...?>

Blitz: "Sorry, this is Ren"

Ammon: <Ren? Oh, you're the one that gave us that translator?>

Maria:I should...just...um...

Lane:Sis...please stop running...

-Maria sits on her knees, but doesn't look like she's going to talk.-

-Jason is out and about by now, flipping a coin.-

Tilt to the Side, last night

-Maria sighs.-

Maria:I'll just...get some water, I guess...I can't dance anyway.

-She shuffles over to the table and sits down.-

-Has been spending the day planning-

-Ren indeed does notice these things.-

Ren: -to Ammon- Correct about the translator. As for the inspection bit, I try to hold back when I can.

-Ren turns to Blitz.-

Ren: Blitz, since Ammon is a battler, might I recommend you use a thicker brush when you groom Ammon? That would make each session go a bit farther since that would get rid of more excess fur and should make Ammon more comfortable overall as well.

-Blitz might note that Ren's mon, despite being more active in battles lately, still have immaculately groomed coats and pelts. Rio's coat has a Pleasant sheen, though it falls fairly short of Kitsune's all but radiant coat. Even Conifer - who is to be raised as a pure battler - has skin that is already taking on a good luster due to her diet and care despite her young age.-

Tori: "I'm not too good at the dancing either really."

-She picks up a menu and flips it open-

"Not hungry tonight? It looks like they have some pretty good food here"

-Tori slowly walks over and tries to give Maria a little hug-

Tori: "You don't have to go if you don't want to Maria"

Ammon: <It's okay, just not used to that>

Blitz: "I'll have to remember that. Still getting used to the finer details of doing all the grooming myself"

-Blitz has noticed that Ren's mon look particularly well cared for-

"You must be a coordinator then?"

-Lane stays silent.-
