-Dune and Deziree are now gearing up to head off to Ambrette Town.-

Dune: So, it's not that far to Ambrette... We just have to go through "Connecting Cave". Sounds simple enough.

Deziree: What does it say below that.

Dune: Let's see... "Also known as... Zubat Roost".

-Dune and Deziree both scrunch their faces.-

Deziree: I hate Zubat...

Dune: Really, really have Zubat...

-Not having much context, Straw just continues hugging Crewe in an attempt to comfort her. He looks over at Herbert at some point-

I'm not sure...whatever happened must've been before Catherine and I were pulled in.

-Catherine is now sitting on the sofa, still annoyed-

-Herbert tilts his head.-

Herbert: Wait, you two were pulled in as well? Damnit, now I'm really beginning to regret falling asleep when I did...

-He looks pensive for a moment, as if inwardly debating something, before eventually giving a small sigh upon glancing over at the sobbing Crewe again.-

Herbert: Do you two... do you need a moment?

Skoll: <I am entirely in agreement with you.>

Somewhere in Cyllage, probably underground or something silly like that...

-a girl is talking to another girl, but not one who is sufficiently important to have a design made of her-

Designed Girl: No, I'm telling you it's true! She's just good at covering her tracks!

Extra Girl: Karissa, we've been over this a thousand times. There's not the slightest evidence that she has anything to do with the missing person.

Designed Girl Karissa: Look, we're here, we may as well try one more ti—

Girl: I've given you as many chances as I possibly can, Karissa. But dragging us out to Kalos on the [DATA EXPUNGED]PD's dime is the last straw. I'm sorry, but this obsession has been affecting your performance, and I have all the paperwork. You're off the force.

Karissa: What?!

Girl: -reading the paperwork- ...Also, the order for this base to be built has been unsigned. We should get out before it collapses.

Martin rolled his eyes. "She can be such a diva sometimes."

"Check this out."

He sat down Indian-style.

Jason rolled his eyes.

"As the name suggests." He watched as Martin sat the f*ck down.

"What are you doing?" he inquired.

"Have you ever seen Impeccable Intonation? That movie about the girl who joins that acapella choir?"

Jason shook his head.

"I have not. Have you ever considered the metaphysical ramafications of instilling incarnations of Pokemon spirits?"

"No. But I've been working on this thing called the Cup Song. I saw it in the movie, and I've been practicing. Wanna hear it?"

"Of course," Jason said, pulling a chair out of his butthole to sit on.

Martin cleared his throat. He began to drum on the cup, and started singing.

Deziree: Don't worry, Dune. You have two Rock Types and an Electric Type. And we may not even see a Zubat in there at this hour!

Dune: Yeah, I know.

-Dune, however, does not appear fully convinced.-

Deziree: If all else fails, we could always go up and over the top of the mountain.-

Dune: Eh, that's true I guess.

-Meanwhile nearby, Anja is fleeing a horde of Hoppip who were attracted by her Sweet Scent.-

Figured I'd do a quick "this is what Zeal and Lanie are doing" thing before I move on to Braden. (Also, I typed this in school, so I probably made some formatting errors I won't be able to fix until I get home. My apologies if that's the case.)

Lumiose City

-Lanie has won the Cliff Badge offscreen. Zeal is looking at Iulianus' tablet once again.-

Zeal: Hey, Mel.

Lanie: Hm?

Zeal: Just... I can't seem to figure out what was up with Iulianus.

Lanie: Ah?

Zeal: Well... like this, for instance. He's got a music playlist here labeled "Play While Working". It's made up entirely of the Empire Souls soundtrack.

Lanie: That isn't all you were going to say, is it?

Zeal: No, of course not. I'm just a bit curious about it...

Lanie: What else did you find?

Zeal: He's got a folder labeled "Ransei History".

Lanie: What about it?

Zeal: Well, he went into great detail writing about Youta Fukui. He was our ancestor; I thought you'd be interested.

Lanie: Sure. But I'm still not sure where you're going with this...

Zeal: "The Warlord of Violight was killed during Youta's time as second-in-command, but he and his grandfather kept that information hidden, and he secretly took over as Warlord. His grandfather served as Warlord in his time away, and as an advisor when he was home."

Lanie: ...And? That was brought up at least once in my history class.

Zeal: But there's more. I'd never heard this part before. Maybe you have, but... "Upon his grandfather's death, Youta is said to have gone into a fit of rage, destroying half the castle, gathering every Magnemite-line mon in the kingdom, and vanishing, never to be seen again. In his absence, chaos emerged within Violight, until a friend of Youta's from overseas took the position of Warlord. That friend was said to have delivered Youta's last words: 'I leave you this world, for I claim another.' The meaning of these words is unknown to this day."

Lanie: No, I knew that, too. Where are you going with this?

Zeal: I'm just confused, is all. Iulianus never seemed to be the type of guy to be interested in Ransei history.

Lanie: But you said yourself, you don't know what was going on wi—

Zeal: No, not... Er... what I'm most interested in is the fact that this is the only file on this tablet related to Ransei history in any way.

Lanie: Oh...?

Zeal: I'm just kinda curious. Why would he write about Youta, and just Youta, in such detail? I think there's more to this that I'm not seeing.

Lanie: I'm not going to doubt that, since you're usually right when it comes to that. But still...

Zeal: There's no use worrying about it now. It's just a thought, y'know? But, I'd like to look into this a bit more. Into Youta's disappearance, I mean. And maybe into Iulianus' interest in him. If I can find anything about that, anyway...

Lanie: But what about Fajro?

Zeal: I'll still be looking for him, of course! But this tablet... I found it in the desert after Iulianus' death, and all it's raised is more questions. It's pretty fun, actually. And that's why I'm interested. This search is secondary to my search for Fajro, of course. But this is something I intend to complete, as well.

Lanie: I'll help you with that, if you need any. If you're so interested in it, I suppose there might be more to it.

Zeal: Exactly. But I don't think we'll get anywhere with it anytime soon, so don't worry about it too much.

Lanie: Yeah. I know.

Route 7

Dune: So, you have Wuffles... have you thought about catching more Pokémon of your own?

Deziree: Yep! My screening process is going to be pretty stringent, though!

Dune: You only want scientist Pokémon, don't you?

-A smile splits Deziree's face as she nods.-

Anja: <Get'em, Auntie Flonne!>

-Meanwhile nearby, an angry Amaura is chasing a horde of Hoppip, with a Petilil following behind.-

-Crewe slowly pulls away from Straw, shifting so she's sitting beside him with one arm around him. She wipes her eyes with her other arm-

No, I'm... I'm okay.

-she clears her throat and looks at Herbert-

Is DS okay?

Herbert: Yes, DS is fine. Apparently some of the stuff in her mindscape was a little messed up, but then again, who's isn't? I was just trying to do my best to block out the details of those particular trip. Honestly, I'm more worried about you and Psyche. You were out for a long time...

Herbert: ...Well, if you don't want to talk about it, then I'm not going to make you talk about it. I think we can all agree that nothing good ever comes of mindscape visits. But... just remember that you don't necessarily have to bottle everything up. I mean, there's a reason I've been waiting in his room for almost an entire week now, after all.

Jason began to clap slowly, a single tear rolling from his eye.

"Fucking bootiful," he wept.

Yeah, okay...

-she gives him a small smile-

Thanks, Herbert. You didn't have to stay here.

Lyuri is sitting by the fountain

"I wonder how long it'll take for Duke to come back to normal. The way he currently is just... Ugh."

"Though... I'm not too different am I? Getting in childish arguments over petty things seems like the kind of thing I'd do."

"So... Does Duke feel like this when I'm in one of my worst days? It feels like a chore to be with him these days..."

She sighs

"Suddenly I feel a lot worse about myself. But, well... I've been trying to improve for a reason and I'm not giving up on him either."

"... Maybe I should talk to Herbert, he probably would know what to do better than I."

She then starts wandering around Camphrier.
