Eskay: I think we'll still need it. The other X doesn't look like it leads to the exit. I think it leads to the other thing of dynamite, though.

Eskay: It's like they knew the exact condition this place would be in six hundred years later, and planned for testing those who wander in. It reminds me of that psycho computer thing in the future-alternate universe we went to last year.

-Sabaku finds himself sitting at a desert oasis, the night sky sparkling with stars. He looks up, and calls across the pool of water.-

Sabaku: Is this what you meant?

-A figure steps out from behind a palm tree. A familiar one, who's old armor glints in the moonlight. Sabaku stands up to meet his gaze.-

Qaures: Yes, and because you didn't heed my words, the young woman from Paxlia has learned how this world truly works.

Sabaku: That last one is a lie, and you know it.

Qaures: Ha! Do not delude yourself. Strength is the only thing people like the Ghost Lord will understand.

Sabaku: An you think that bloody conflict is the only means of demonstrating that?! All you do is sow the seeds for yet more conflict!

-The older figure scoffs at his younger counterpart's words. The oasis melts away, and the two find themselves once again in the middle of a titanic sandstorm. This time, however, the winds are blowing against each other, with one wind supporting Sabaku and one supporting Qaures.-

Qaures: A leader- nay, a king has every right to do anything with his kingdom as he pleases!

-The sands shift, Qaures's wind pushing back Sabaku's.-

Sabaku: You're wrong! That doesn't make you a king - it makes you a tyrant!

-The sand rebalances.-

Qaures: "Tyrant" is merely a label that the ignorant place upon those in power because they have none themselves!

Sabaku: My, that sounds positively Ghost Lord of you.

Qaures:    Don't you compare me to that upstart!   

-From the sands, a massive, impossibly tall ziggurat erupts from the ground from under Qaures's feet. The older man stands tall at the top.-

Qaures: He does not understand true power!

Sabaku: And you do? Whether you admit it or not, you're just as deluded as he is, only with added vengeance for a perceived insult.

Qaures: You're still a naive fool! You don't understand what a king must endure in his lifetime!

Sabaku: ... Yes. I do now.

-Sabaku plants a foot on the bottom step of the imposing pyramid.-

Qaures: The people are meant to serve their king!

Sabaku: A king serves the people!

Qaures: A king is entitled to do as he pleases!

Sabaku: A king is just as subject to the law as any commoner!

-Sabaku continues to climb. Qaures becomes more vicious in his declarations.-

Qaures: You let Alphonse die!

Sabaku: His wounds were likely poisoned. Unless we were specifically expecting him to be poisoned, there was nothing we could do.

Qaures: He died protecting you!

Sabaku: And I won't let him die knowing that I backed down after he gave everything to see me live.

-Sabaku is almost to the top of the pyramid.-

Qaures: You don't know the first thing about being king!

-Sabaku pulls himself to the top of the ziggurat's stairs.-

Sabaku: A king's love...

-Once again, the sandstorm collapses in on the two forms, consuming the giant structure in the process.-
