Fatal Fury classics

Terry, Billie, Andy, Mai and we saw Joe in the Artwork for Terry

Its more of an even split

with only Kim's sons missing, Not Naruto and Freeman

Hope they don't scrap Joe's apprentice (daughter?). More female Muay Thai fighters would be nice.

Fatal Fury doesn't have the same problem SF has where its Mainstay cast is so large ' tend to take up so much of the cast slots that New characters get prioritized even if you could argue a certain couple of those mainstays aren't really uber popular but they fill out the archetype list so well

I hope it'll have a few new characters, too.

I kinda see them going all out for Garou 2, This has been the sequel They've been wanting to do for a while.

It's insane how the last couple big fighting game roster have ALL somewhat leaked. Is there any game that hasn't had their roster leaked?

SF 6, Tekken 8, MK 1, even NASB 2

Which made the end of Ultimate's first fighter pass funny how everyone "leaked" every single character except the actual fighter.

At times it kinda feels like leaks are a part of the marketing, even if the devs and publishers REALLY don't want that happening.

The original Street Fighter 2 didn't allow for them, it was only made available as an option after Championship Edition IIRC.

Street Fighter 1 didn't either, but that one's kind of cheating because Ken plays identically to Ryu there.

What's your opinion on guest characters?

I know it's a divisive topic for some, given how prevalent they are in certain games and their tendency to be DLC might make other people think guests take a slot away from a returning veteran.

It's been well-established by now that "taking slots away" isn't really a thing, the roster for a game is typically decided upon very early in development, and as somebody who loves crossovers, I'm perfectly okay with guest characters.

Guest characters are fine in moderation and if they make sense 'and you know are good'

Do A having crossovers with Ko F and VF was cool

I think MK is the one series that has soured me on Guest characters but thats more NRS' big obsession with trying to cram in Guest characters over returning characters

like Tekken and Do A it doesn't bother me cause they strive to have most of the roster return while MK will do some pretty strange choices

MKX's Guest characters were great

MKXI's were ass and felt like a bunch of wasted slots for novelty choices, With Spawn being the true standout

Guest characters with characters that fit perfectly in with a game's themes, other characters, or gameplay are a thing of beauty.

I think if a game is huge and is going to have a similarly huge roster, it doesn't hurt to have at least a few guest characters. Usually, if a game has a guest character that doesn't fit, I mostly just wish they hat picked a different guest characters.

I'd love for SF 6 to have one or two guest characters once its roster really expands (like, second or third season, put in a KOF character or something). And I'm surprised KOFXV hasn't had a guest team yet.

Street Fighter tends to pick from other corners of their shared universe, really.

I think people are moving away with the idea that a character "steals" a spot, and are more wishing that the developers didn't use up time on making certain characters. "I know this one didn't take character X's spot; I wish that time invested on this character went to someone else instead."

Guests are tricky. Could be cool; could be tacky. A celebration of a character's popularity or a shameless and nonsensical advertisement. And the concern that they have the most potential to be on the chopping block for the next game because of licensing.

Terry Bogart is probably the most natural pick for a guest character Street Fighter could have. Like, anything else is a distant second. Maybe, like, Akira Yuki for the Virtua Fighter prestige.

That said, Street Fighter has so many characters to pick from from its own legacy and extended canon that I'd personally rather them focus in that direction. Ive been on both sides of this, but that's where I fall right now with Street Fighter 6 in its current state. SF6 feels like a celebration of Street Fighter and Capcom, and characters new and old feel like they should fit that mold.

Wasn't Ingrid so disliked in Alpha 3 because of how out of place she was?

I honestly never understood the hate for Inrgid. Maybe being supposedly more powerful than Bison is a justified reason but still.

Edit: maybe less people would hate her if she wasn't a Physical Goddess.
