If it helps, the slimes near the Depths drop Large Shards fairly often, as well as the occasional Green shard. Though if you want Green Shards, go to Blighttown and start slaughtering leeches. It's a rare drop, but when they do drop shards, they come in bundles of five.

Yep. I got more than 40 of them while farming the leeches for large titanite. It's how I was able to upgrade my Divine/Occult Bastard Swords so quickly.

Oh, and I revived the AC V thread. What there was of it. Like 6 people are interested in this game.

Made a pure caster build. Fast-rolling everywhere, using sorcery and pyromancy.

I understand why Havel hated sorcerers now. After all, if I had to lug around armor that heavy, only to have some cocky jerk in leather armor throw a few spells at me and kill me without me getting a swing in, I'd be passed off, too.

Magic kills everything!

I just need to make sure I keep my physical stats somewhat decent in case I need to use my sword.

It's kind of funny. Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve.

Enchanted weapons dude. Just make your stats baseline for the weapon you want to use.

This humanity farming thing is boring.

And my Crest Shield is up to +5 after some trades with Snuggly.

Wish I had some Titanite Chunks to finish upgrading my armor though.

Oh really when?

So does every Dark Souls player ever. The Giant Sentinels guarding the Ornsmough room sometimes drop them. They're probably your best bet right now. You won't be able to fully upgrade though. You need Titanite Slabs to upgrade armour to max, and you only get 3 or so. And you'll have to use one to fully upgrade your Zweihander.

Hmm, I hate fighting those guys.

Oh well, I'll deal with all that later. Now it's back to stabbing rats.

See, I don't want to rely too heavily on magic damage, though.

So then... why did you make a pure caster?

Just use Pyromancy if you run up against something with high magic resistance. Unless Pyromancy also counts as magic damage.

I'm relying on magic damage too with my Faith character and I've not had much trouble.

They become a lot less threatening when you're able to twoshot them with a Great Scythe

then again the same could be said for

well almost everything in that run

Still can't kill them. My charcoal resin went to waste. My humanity went to waste.

Damn these two.

[up]Are you two-handing against them? Approach them from their left and circle around. For the most part, they will try to either do a straight thrust or shield-slam. That is your opportunity to get 2-3 hits in before they get up or you run out of stamina. When they start glowing white, BACK THE FUCK AWAY. When they kneel, that is your cue to whack the shit out of them before then can finish healing.

OHHHHHH. That explains things.

Yeah, if you're human and are able to summon Solaire, do so. Make sure to hit Smough with loads of magic while he distracts Ornstein. Make him whiff and punish him with spells.

Then, when Smough is dead, make sure Solaire distracts Giant!Ornstein so you have free reign to slash his legs into pieces. When he leaps into the air, that is your cue to ROLL BACKWARDS TWICE.

That's only if you want Ornstein's gear: If you don't care about either, or want Smough's, it's a simpler: All Smough gains after Ornstein is immunity to lightning, and the lightning element, as well as an electrified buttslam.

Smough already had the buttslam. It just gets a wider radius because magic.

@Omega: Because I wanted to use magic. But there's a difference between a focused skill set and crippling overspecialization. And pyromancy has a limit on its uses, and you're left vulnerable while casting.

I think a lightning weapon will suit my needs. No need to worry about my stats.

I just can never get out of the way fast enough and I keep missing steps.

I love my Zweihander to death, truly I do but it's lack of speed is biting me in the ass.

But it's so nice.

I've got my Claymore +7 sitting in the box and I've had my eye on the Balder sword for a while. I've also been told the Silver Knight Spear is good but I just love my Zweihander so much.

That overhead swing.

Actually, I can beat them with the Zweihander easily enough.

Try to practice rolling a bit, and try to get to Fastroll weight.
