Yeah, something like that. It's a very funny image, but just seems not quite as on-point as it should be. I guess one problem I have is, yeah, headshots kill zombies... and most other things too.
Jet-a-Reeno!Agree — the zombie comic is great as a comic, but flawed for our purposes. The genre that it isn't is clear, but the genre that it is, parody/absurdist humour is too fuzzy and broad and ... meta if you know what I mean. It also makes me think more of Death by Genre Savviness.
(We can do better than the current image — too dependent on lotsa tiny text, and you need most of the panels for it to make sense.)

Is there a way we can put up Puella Magi Madoka Magica up here? Like the image from its page. Its an extremely misleading picture, and we all know that the Wham Episode was an incredible hitter for those who thought it was a casual anime, despite it having the tropes of a Magical Girl-type anime.

Fandoms are insane. Please read How To Pick A Good Image and Just A Face And A Caption. Not everyone has seen the work you're talking about, and thus are unlikely to understand how the image is an example.
Fight smart, not fair. That requires knowledge of the work to make the picture understandable, something which is very bad for an image. And the characters in that show are barely an example anyway.
Reaction Image RepositoryAlso the Puella Magi image doesn't say anything about the Genre Savvy of the characters. That was a case where the audience got a Genre Bait And Switch played on them. Not a good example here.

Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit. The clock's up; are we gonna go with the smaller version of the current pic, the zombie pic, or none at all?
I liked the zombie one.
The zombie picture is no good. It requires knowledge of the zombie genre. I was confused when I saw it. At best it should go to a zombie trope, not here. Like what was said earlier, it could be mistaken for a parody.
I'm behind a compression of the current pic. Just the second and last panel will do.

Removing the Head or Destroying the Brain is the trope you're thinking of.
Rhymes with "Protracted."
