Maid RPG - Discussion

Just to know for the future, sorry if I don't post very often. I'm Swedish and therefore not in the same time zone as you guys, so I can't really refresh looking for updates every ten minutes since, well, I'm probably asleep when you guys update. Couple that with that I only check for updates on this once per day and write a post if necessary, and I don't get that much posted compared to you.

Quick question: are you going to handle the rolls for the maids or should we? It's fine either way, I just want to be sure.

Hey, I got an idea. How about, without Lili or Roderich knowing it, the reason Vash got thrown in jail was that he tried to rob Roderich (let's say he was on a business trip or something)?

Okay, a little detail on current events in the RP thread:

The random event entry that started things off was simply a murderer showing up, there was no real details on motivation or targets, but it was stated to be a murderer (oh, and I used the stats that were given in the book for him, too). You can tell that the appearance of the murderer was foretold in the first post, it was the front door opening! And that's why the next post from me that was R Ped had "Time passes" as the first line, to handwave why a guy who likely had no knowledge of the mansion's layout to find someone (by the way, Feliks got picked by me laying out the characters sheets I'm maintaining of you guys and the master, and rolling a d4 to determine the person who would encounter the murderer, or vise versa).

Of course, as you can see, the simple random encounter that it was supposed to be is no longer in effect, and it looks like it may end up being something greater. As part of that, I decided that yes, there would be a second intruder , but the gun got jumped before I could mention that.

However, as you've seen, the gun got jumped in the same direction I was leaning, so I'm not complaining. Okay, I may have jumped the gun myself there on this comment, but it's out there, so yes, there is a second intruder in the mansion. I was actually planning on dropping this detail in the RP thread, but I canceled that idea when I found out the supersecretspoiler tag didn't work in the forums.

So, what's next? Well, I would be likely to say that things have already gone off the rails, but that would be implying that I had some sort of plan to begin with. In other words, we're in uncharted territory, we always were in uncharted territory, and I have no issues with either.

Well, while you guys figure that out and get it ready and posted, I still have to finish rewatching the second episode of Seven of Seven, and then rewatch it again so I can write it up.

I've been getting lazy about that, and I'm only on the second episode. This does not bode well for the future...

No, I'm not dead, and neither is the game. And me not doing something I intended to do for a few days is nothing unusual...

And on that note, I really need to remember to log back on to Eve one of these days...

Ummm, just so you know Glexen, I have NOT read the RP that your character originates from. I just wanted you to know because I'm sure that I would act out of characterin comparison, since I decided to have Aoi be the butler from your past on a whim.

For the first part, no issues. For the second part, no ideas.

And for the record, this is the sort of thing that P Ms are good for; and that way, the secret and surprising stuff really is secret and surprising. If we were on IRC, we'd use the MSG command, or simple direct chats, and it would serve the same purpose.

It's just more noticeable on IRC, due to the real time nature of IRC over the more leisurely nature of a web board...

So I have a question, is this game using the seduction rules? And if yes, would Sara count as pre-seduced by Aoi due to backstory? Or would they not?

No. That will likely get too unfunny real fast, and it's more than I want to have to deal with.

...Also, I'm using the Basic character sheets, and I don't feel like moving everybody's data over to the Romance sheets, and helping those who don't have access to the gamebook determine Traumas and any other fun stuff.

Actually, I think that Victoria should be getting close to a Stress Explosion right about now, assuming we're roleplaying here and not Munchkining.

More like at the moment, it's more pure roleplaying with only the occasional intervention from the game engine to determine the occasional outcome of events.

So, if you want to have a stress explosion, feel free. It just won't be a gameplay Stress Explosion.

Also, Traumas are mostly just special qualities, but if I put them in, I would also want to put in the Complexes, and those would really be a hassle (everyone would need to roll on two separate tables, and since they can be exploited by others if found out, they are something that would need to be keep secret, so I would need to PM you guys the results... Yeah, like I said, a hassle).

Idea for a minor event: Roderich is having a ball at the mansion and teaches the maids how to do ballroom dancing in preparation. Of course, that means slow dancing for everyone with everyone! :D
