Ergh, this is tough. I don't think the doll has the right impact, but at least with an image of such low quality, the Green Lantern panels don't, either. That said, though, I'm thinking Keep Until Better Image Suggested.
"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "Clock is set.
I kind of like the sex doll one.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. The doll does seem an improvement over the current: it seems far clearer to me, and is amusing on top of that.
My Games & WritingThere's not a clear enough consensus for the doll pic, so I've started a crowner and hit the snooze.
Pre-weekend bump for votes; the two are tied at +1 and 1.5:1.
Quality swap.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Perhaps we could use something like this?
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartThat's more slasher flick victim than this trope.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Bump for votes...as of right now:
- "Girlfriend"◊: 3 (yeas:8 nays:5) 1.60 : 1
- Green Lantern◊ (current page pic): 1 (yeas:8 nays:7) 1.14 : 1
Post-weekend bump...this one's going nowhere fast.
The reason I dislike the doll is, well, this is not a trope about stuffing people in refrigerators. But the sex doll one just looks like a joke about stuffing people in fridges. And that's not what this trope is about.
I realize that the Green Lantern pic also shows someone stuffed in a literal fridge, but it's presented in a way that makes it clear why that relates to the trope.
Also, this is a dramatic trope. It's a way for the villain to give the hero some actual psychological damage, kind of like Sadistic Choice or Would You Like to Hear How They Died?. Putting a comedic image on the page really disrupts the mood.

Rhymes with "Protracted."This is exactly my feeling. It needs a suitably grim image that remains non-spoilery. The green lantern one works decently on most levels if perfectly on only a few.
Agreed, humorous image for this trope is completely wrong, it's supposed to be dramatic and tragic even if it's become both overused and over criticized recently.

"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler. This one's almost at a week and we're still not at a calling level for either.
Alright, it's time to wrap this. The current pic's the only one in the green right now, and since the better-quality version was swapped in, it's what we'll keep. Locking up.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
I like the sex doll one. Much more concise and to the point.
Belief or disbelief rests with you.
