I can't really think of anyone else I want to give my link to. Should I just post it here as well?

Go for it.

Also, I posted this a few pages back:

It's a code for the first cantina pack. I don't know if five people clicked it, but you're all welcome to try. Just remember to share your own code if it works for you.

SWTOR has been doing "Cantina Events" for a while, which are basically meet-and-greets with fans at certain venues (theoretically bars, thus the "cantina" thing, but it's generally been at hotels in association with cons. The most recent one was in San Diego during Comic-Con, for example). In the past, they've had devs available for Q&A and handed out SWTOR-branded USB drives with teasers for upcoming content (concept art and the like), which tends to get posted online in short order. For the last couple, though, they've also handed out codes that give the people using them a "cantina pack" — an in-game package containing a unique speeder and a random other item (like a dye set). Activating a cantina code with your account not only gives you a cantina pack for all your characters, but also gives you a new cantina code that five more people can use to get their own pack (and code), so even people who can't make it to the cantina event can get the goodies associated with it.

New Fallen Empire trailer

Also, if you're trying to avoid spoilers, be careful: someone had the opportunity to datamine Fallen Empire Chapter 1 and learned some interesting things.

Having seen the spoilers, I'm not impressed.

Yeah, it looks like the devs had no idea how to continue the Empire vs. Republic story, so they hit the Reset Button via Shocking Swerve.

Warning: probably huge Fallen Empire spoilers below:

I'm not too upset about Valkorian being Vitiate, but it looks like they've changed Vitiate's motive from becoming a god to conquering the galaxy, which is odd because (1) Vitiate's lust for godhood has been his defining/only character trait and (2) Vitaite could have easily conquered the galaxy using his Sith Empire if he were willing to get off his ass and fight on the front lines.

wild mass guess The 2016 expansion will reveal that both the Sith and Eternal empires were just elaborate ruses. He actually has a third hidden Empire he'll use to make a surprise attack out of nowhere.wild mass guess

[up][up] Maybe the reason he formed the Eternal Empire is because he saw the Sith Empire as failures? To be honest I'd wondered how Valkorian intended to keep the "Eternal" Empire going if he was going to die one day, and why he seemed to outright goad at least one of his sons into turning to the dark side. Now that he's apparently the Emperor it all becomes a lot clearer.

Y'all be crazy. I never got the point of seeking out spoilers for a game where much of the draw is the plotline.

Then again, I'm the guy who's been playing since launch and still hasn't finished all the regular 1-50 class storylines. So maybe I'm just slow.

I haven't played SWTOR in years because I'm a law student and playing an MMO is too much of a time commitment, so I have no qualms about seeking out spoilers for this game. With other games and stories, I usually try to be more cautious.

Honestly, Vitiate being the head of the Eternal Empire is probably the least stupid thing they could've done with him. To me, at least.

Also, I recently followed TOR on twitter, and it's fairly obvious they have very little idea what to do with their account. xD

@Millard: Yeah, that's pretty much what I've been saying since the beginning.

Should have just had Darth Marr take over the Empire for realsies. Vitiate was too cartoonish.

And now I'm reminded about how I decided to buy the Revan book a month and a half ago and it turned out to pretty much be just as bad as everyone said it was. And apparently it was written by the head writer for Kot OR and the Mass Effect trilogy. Bleh.

So, I have a question.

Why oh why are so many areas in the game set so far from their corresponding respawn point? I just spent like 5 hours on Voss trying to destroy the crashed Sith ship because I kept dying and the nearest med station is like a whole kilometer away.

I don't have any. I used them all on the first planet because I didn't realize I had to pay real money for new ones.

By the way, here's a 50-use cantina code for everyone:

So, I never did the flashpoints while I was leveling, but now I'm level 50 and I... kinda want to just to see the story content there (even if there's not much, I have no idea what Satele Shan's deal is and I feel like I should)

Is it a breach of ettiquette to try doing low level flashpoints as a high level player? Even if I don't roll the loot, or however that works? Can I just do the really low level ones solo?

I tried doing Hammer Station once as a level 50 Jedi Guardian. Unfortunately, the first boss had way too much health, so while he couldn't hurt me, it would have taken forever for me to kill it.

That being said, this was years ago. It's possible that balance changes might have made it easier, or that a DPS class might have a better shot.

At endgame, a bunch of flashpoints get higher level versions, so you could do those. In all honesty, though, with a companion you should be able to solo most of them, especially the really low-level ones (in those basically all the enemies miss you, constantly, with you taking the very rare shot that does basically no damage).

The flashpoints for the Revan expansion, and the four ones (called collectively "Forged Alliance") leading up to it, have a solo mode so you don't need to worry about it. A robot will accompany you and do basically all the hard work.

On joining up with low-levels, they may or may not appreciate it. Given that low-level flashpoints can be hell to queue and wait up for, they might just be glad to have someone take them through it, only really wanting the cutscenes or to further their inner completionist. Having a high-level player means they won't get much if any XP, so they might also just get grumpy.

EDIT: Colicoid War Game is pretty much unsoloable, since it requires doing a puzzle. Honestly, you won't miss much.

Wait, everyone gets reduced XP? Not just me?

Well, that's dumb. Guess I won't be doing that, then. I'm doing the Maelstrom Prison one solo right now and I don't think I've taken a single point of damage, so the others will probably be fine solo as well.

I think it's largely so level 60s don't start carrying level 10s through whatever, breaking the whole game. I think quest reward XP is unaffected, not sure.

Guild Wars 2 was pretty good about this whole thing. Each zone had a level cap, and you'd get quietly debuffed when you stepped into them (but you'd keep your skills), which prevented you from just overlevelling everything and being unable to go meet up with pals.
