I've finished Inquisitor, Warrior, and Agent. Good thing I played them in that order, because I think Agent story > Warrior story > Inquisitor story. The character type that the Inquisitor is supposed to evoke is very poorly served by WoW-style quests, and I think your relationships with other Sith, especially your master and your (eventual) apprentice, are significantly better developed in the Warrior story. I didn't think the Inquisitor story was bad, just disappointing compared to the others.

The Agent story is excellent. The second chapter, in particular, thrusts you really deep into the intrigue and has some shockingly intense moments. And your relation to other Imperials is just fundamentally more interesting and nuanced than when you're a Sith.

Warrior story is just so much better than the Inquisitor one. I like the subtle Nice Job Breaking It, Hero in the Warrior story: Killing Darth Baras did more damage to the Empire than not assisting The Emperor and leaving Baras in charge would've done. Plus Baras's reasons for turning on you are much more sensible than Thanaton's.

Assisting the Empire and assisting the Emperor are almost 2 completely different goals that likely would go at odds with each other.

Its a shame the personal stories will never get expanded. The Warrior never even meets the Emperor!

New Producer's Roadmap

Highlights 2.8

  • New event
  • Return of old events
  • Ni M Dread Palace
  • Increased Pv P rewards
  • Massively Overhauled Ops Groupfinder

Sounds pretty good to me, especially the change to Operations Groupfinder. We'll soon have the fourth double XP weekend in the past few months. Sounds like they want as many people at 55 as possible for when the level cap gets raised later this year.

Finally got around to finishing the Inquisitor storyline, I really enjoyed it, while the gameplay has and always will be my biggest complaint with this game I did find the ending REALLY satisfying, watching my Sorcerer demonstrate their accumulated power and FORCING THANATON TO HIS KNEES FUCK YEAH gave me a big grin as I watched it happen. I also really loved watching the Silencer fire. very reminiscent of the Death Star firing sequence. All things considered it was a very very fun time.

Now to go full Thrawn and make a Chiss Agent, now I have to decide on whether to go Sniper or Operative.

just be prepared for the glitch at the end of "Darth Zhorrid arrives" or anytime you try to use the holoterminal on the agent ship really. Currently stuck on that right now. I'm playing on some alts but damn its annoying. And nothing i've tried to fix it has worked.

I really like this game, but then something like this happens. hmm. to google! and this has been an issue for over a a year? if your touting your game's story as one of the main selling points then not being able to progress should be a priority in fixing.

Started this again. Made an Imperial Agent, currently level 44. Fortunately, I haven't run into any gamebreaking bugs, one amusing moment aside where I was alerted someone was outside the ship... but I'd gone to my ship after teleporting to the fleet, so apparently they'd just been somehow knocking from another port on a planet far far away. I sorted this out just by setting the ship to the right planet, however.

So, big spoilers for the Legacy of the Rakata flashpoint (which I think is still in open beta, I haven't actually played the game in over a year): Revan (or someone with his mask, cloak, and voice) is alive and has his own army. Unfortunately, he's still evil.

Legacy of the Rakata went live yesterday with patch 2.10. Regarding the spoilers, can't say I'm all that surprised. Last time he showed up, he was planning on using another Star Forge to build a droid army to wipe out the True Sith and anyone with any True Sith blood — which is some absurd 90+ percentage of the Imperial population. When you fight him, he uses a combination of Light and Dark side abilities, and when you beat him, he very conspicuously disappears in a flash of light rather than, you know, dying. I can't say I was actually expecting him to show up in the Rakata flashpoint, but I can't say I'm surprised, either. I haven't gotten a chance to play the new flashpoint yet (I'm out of town until Friday), so I'll reserve judgment until I have, but I do seem to be one of the few who actually though they handled Revan's appearance in the Foundry flashpoint pretty well, so I'm looking forward to it.

Revan's alive? I am shocked, nay, flabbergasted!

I also still haven't played in about a year but now I remember something I was wondering before: presumably SWTOR is non-canon Legends, like the rest of the EU. Has this affected anything in- or out-of-game? Any rumors of Disney preparing to shut it down? TCW is one of the few canonical media now, and that happened anyway...

Canon is a silly concept and no one should care about it anyway.

As far as shutting SWTOR down, I haven't heard anything to that effect — not even rumors. I'm not sure that Disney could should them down even if they wanted to. They're bound to honor agreements Lucas made regarding the Star Wars IP before he sold the rights, and (unlike a TV show, which is generally done on a season-by-season basis) I don't think that SWTOR has to re-negotiate the rights to the Star Wars IP every time they make a new expansion or whatever.

Why does this game keep insisting we fight Revan? :|

Not surprised he's alive after the backlash from the first time.

I assume he chose the Dark Side ending. Either that or this is some alternate universe where he never caught amnesia and/or took on Malak as an apprentice.

[up]Nope, SWTOR proceeds from the idea that Revan took the Light Side ending to the original KOTOR.

[up][up]Because the dude is seriously fucked in the head?

I know that Revan is treated like Jedi Jesus in the KOTOR fandom, but seriously. The guy was a Jedi, went rogue, fell to the dark side, got Mind Rape'd by the Sith Emperor, got Mind Wipe'd by the Jedi, went through all the shenanigans of reconciling his "new" life with his "old" one, spent a few hundred years being Mind Rape'd by the Sith Emperor again, and when he's finally rescued by the Jedi, he's pissed because he means he can no longer hold the Emperor back through their connection.

Suffice to say that Revan is not the most stable of individuals.

Doesn't mean he has to be relegated to loot box status.

Better than what happened to the fucking Exile I guess. I'm still pissed at that, especially since replaying KOTOR 2.

Also I prefer the KOTOR 2 narrative that Revan willingly fell to the Dark Side to do what had to be done to save the Republic, rather than him being a victim of the Sith Emperor.

It was both — first he fell while fighting the Mandalorians in order to save the Republic, then he heard about the Sith Empire, went to investigate, got caught, got mind-slave'd, and got sent back against the Republic as Darth Revan.

Besides, he's been fought exactly once so far (he makes an appearance in the most recent flashpoint, but only as a hologram, not as a fight) and they're clearly setting him up to be the primary antagonist for 3.0, the way the Dread Masters were for 2.0, so the "they're turning him into a loot box" complaint is seriously overblown.

Right, I dislike the whole "getting captured and mind fucked into being Darth Revan" part. The novel added that, right?

Also, instead of an Antagonist / Possible Raid Boss I'd rather he be important to the story / an ally.

More Thrall, less Garrosh. Though I could be wrong thats how he's being treated.

What level is the Flashpoint again?

Meh, it's a no-win situation for Bioware. When you have a character with as much of a fanbase as Revan, anything they choose to do with him — including "nothing" — was going to piss off a lot of people. I like the story they decided to tell with him, and I'm not going to fault them for not telling a different one instead — especially because most people treat Revan an invincibly powerful and morally unassailable combination of Chuck Norris and Gandhi, except with a lightsaber, which is boring. Instead we get an interesting, if a little sad, story about an actually human character who keeps going down the wrong path because, despite being a fundamentally good person, he can't overcome his own flaws.

I don't think there's anything wrong with having a badass character, I just personally found it refreshing that there was a character who willingly went to the Dark Side because it was the only option to save the Republic.

Its a lot more interesting than "A Sith Emperor did it."

But then again, I much prefer KOTOR 2's moral ambiguity over the "Pure White and Pure Black" of normal Star Wars.

FYI, Revan wasn't brainwashed during the Jedi Civil War. The Emperor captured him and brainwashed him to capture the Star Forge, but Revan broke free shortly after and used the Star Forge to try to conquer the Republic to prepare for a war with the Empire.

Whoa...This is indeed incredibly serious if the Empire and the Republic are being forced to work together in order to stop Revan from doing whatever he's planning.
