Andalia: The Great Storm

Brìghde became a bit defensive. She had to make sure the knowledge that she was from Earth remained a secret. While Kyrio might know, she had to make sure no one else, especially Sakkaku, found out. "Oh really? While I knew she left recently, I was never told where she went. Apparently, where ever it was is above my security clearance," she lied. Alright, before we leave tomorrow, I have to check the records to figure out who the hell he is.

Kyrio smiled, "Oh, alrighty then, I simply hope she is quite alright."

He looked down at little Matthew, a replacement...but this little guy was the closest in age and personality to the Matthew he remembered.

"I'm sure she is. Anyway, I'm rather tired and it's been a long day. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to bed," with that, Brìghde left to rent a room before retiring to it.

Sakkaku, on the other hand, order a refill for his drink and stayed there. He wanted to keep an eye on Kyrio just a little longer before retiring himself.

Kyrio smiled, looking at Sakkaku. He pondered about this assassin and how much he knew of the way this dimension gained its magic. It was amusing and useful at any rate, and it might help the illusionist deal with that troublesome demon.

Sakkaku took another drink as he casually glanced around the room. He noticed that Kyrio seemed to be eying him and though that was interesting he figured that a confrontation would be a bad idea. Deciding that nothing interesting was going to happen, Sakkaku finished his drink, paid for it, and began to head to his room.

If you want Kyrio to speak to him, now would probably be the best time to do it.

Kyrio was walking toward him and he asked, "So, you are a companion of my good friend there...I was wondering about possibly repaying the favor, what that you rescued my son..."

Matthew was listening in, and one glance from Kyrio sent him home, running out of the inn's door.

Sakkaku stopped when he spoke. If he wants to repay the favor he should have talked to Nadia. I have nothing to do with her actions. However, something tells me that rejecting him would be a bad idea... Ah, what the hell. "We do not require anything but if you want to I won't stop you," the assassin said to him.

Kyrio said, "I...noticed your friend is a master of barriers, and so you yourself must be a powerful sorcerer to travel with her, so surely you are trying to stop the Great Demon Seiskelot from emerging in this world?"

Seiskelot was a monster which had initiated an Enemy Civil War against Tabarach, challenging his might easily. And now Seiskelot had started trying to manifest in Andalia, already causing mass insanity in many people, though his great power was reduced by a cross counter result between him and his ex-boss, which had left even Tabarach reeling.

do you get a feeling for what kind of man Kyrio is?

Sakkaku quietly repeated the name a few times as he racked his mind in an attempt to pin it down, "Ah yes. I had read about him a few times. However, I was not aware that he was trying to enter this world. I take it you know how to stop him from entering?"

Let's see if he can manipulate Sakkaku. It takes a lot to get him to bind to the will of someone else (assuming he can't get anything out of it or isn't reverse manipulating the person).

Gotcha.

"Indeed I do...I am quite an accomplished sorcerer myself."

Kyrio supposed that was a bit too easy.

"Okay... Can you tell me a bit more about what you want me to do?"

"There are seven key stones which are protected in turn by seven guardians, each of the seven is needed if Seiskelot wants to enter Andalia. They were set up when Tabarach and Zero Edge first fought and were largely responsible for the Demon Lord manifesting. However, we do have time, since Seiskelot's minions are trying to renovate the Seven Keystones for their master's entry, rather than Tabarach."

"So I take it you want me to track down theses seven stones and gather them myself?"

"Yes, need I say what would happen if Seiskelot were to emerge into the world?"

He looked down, thinking on the next parts of the plan.

Sakkaku closed his eyes, crossed his arms, and thought for a minute, "You're going to have to do it yourself. My companions and I are currently busy trying to get back to a group who are currently going to collect a weapon powerful enough to defeat Tabarach. If you know the location of these stones and one of them happens to be along the way I might consider getting it. After all, they need all seven to get through and as long as they don't have one then we're fine.

"Since you call yourself a powerful sorcerer, you shouldn't have many problems collecting the if you need them so badly. Now, as I said before, if I happen to run across one of them on my way to the north, I'll consider getting. Otherwise, I won't bother."

Kyrio looked more dark now, a smirk slowly spreading across his face, "I know about Vermundos Geister, you do not know the whole story about Vermundos Geister, I know about something happening within the Guild, you do not...I know about your old comrades, you do not."

He loved playing "the villain."

Sakkaku raised an eyebrow, "Oh? I couldn't give a damn about Geister. As for the Guild, you better watch what you say. I have heard that they do not take kindly to secrets being revealed. As for my comrades, I couldn't care less about them. While having secrets to hold over their heads could be useful, there are other ways I could learn them without being in debt to someone."

If you want to exploit someone properly, you have to know their character. So far, you don't seem to know Sakkaku's character (especially since he thinks Geister is dead and even if he knew he as alive, the person who gave him the contract has been blown to pieces. You can't really get a reward for a contract that was given to you on the other side of Andalia [unless said contract required you to go there]).

"Very well, just remember that you might have had a chance right now to change an outcome or two."

He started to walk off. Even if he refused to be on Kyrio's side, in the grand game of chess-go-checkers-reversi, he was still going to win.

*exhales* I'll probably regret not getting that info so...

Sakkaku's mind raced, This guy does seem to know what he's talking about. I also have no leads as to why the Guild is betraying its members... I really don't want to do this but...

"Wait," Sakkaku called out to him. "It has been a long day and I am rather tired. While I still don't give a damn about Geister, I'd like to hear what you know about the Guild. I'll buy you a drink to make up for my rude behavior if you wish."

"Oh its perfectly alright, I do not require any more drinks, all I require from you is assistance. There are certain elements to this which would prove difficult."

Indeed, the corner stones were guarded rather well already...and there were other things which could go wrong.

"Alright," Sakkaku sat down at an empty table and gestured to the empty seat across from him. "What can you tell me?"

"To start, the enemies could, if we just seized one of the stones, eventually, they would just recreate it, and for a second thing, I need a man of your...expertise, to deal with two of the Guardian enemies due to their peculiarities, and potentially to defeat Seiskelot should he emerge by some odd mean."

"Why would you need someone like me? Yeah, I can do some rather powerful magic, some of which most people don't know about, but I don't use it for a reason that you probably already know. Besides, surely there must be someone out there who's more powerful than me."

"I need you for your specific talents, and besides, I have this little trinket to make it worth your while..."

He put a small, golden bauble which looked like it had silver veins running over it and a shell surrounding the top.

"Should you need to find an item which is cursed or has a dark magical effect, then this thing will show you the way. Should prove useful given what I suspect you may be doing."

Sakkaku took the charm and studied it closely. He could faintly sense mana originating from the object, not enough to remove a curse or fight off dark magic, but assumed that was a defense mechanism to hid its presence until it was used. An object like this could have an untold number of uses especially considering what they were going against. This object alone would make the side trips well worth it.

"Alright. I'll do it. However, I shall need a bit more information if you have it. Will I need to collect them all or is there a certain number that will do and do you happen to know the general location of these objects?"
