Resident Evil 6

^^ People are just using "Like COD" to mean "Not the glowing tribute to my nostalgia that I wanted". I'm noticing that a lot.

In other news, now those guys who keep turning up in sydney in the same frigging costumes every year can cl;aim to be from a real game.

To be honest, the game just sounds kinda lame. What really matters is execution. Resident Evil 4 wasn't that great of a concept, but the actual game was awesome.

You could say that about anything, really. I constantly notice that the best concepts make the worst games.

Whoah, am i the only one excited here? This sounds great! Take RE 4, splice in some proper co-op and a Mythology Gag or two, bring back all those freaky T-Virus (Or was it G-Virus?) monstrosities so they can menace us fairly without the tank controls. Not sure about the Villain Protagonist stuff but whatever. I'm looking forward to this.

The Left 4 Dead comparisons are obvious though. You know, with this and Yakuza Of The End i'm thinking the Japanese love shooting zombies as much as we do.

I'd love to see a remake of the earlier RE games with an RE 4 style, but remember they've all already been remade. If they remade them again then Resident Evil might surpass Mega Man as Capcom's most-milked franchise. And look what that did for Guitar Hero.

It's less Left 4 Dead and more Ghost Recon with Zombies.

^^Dude, have you even PLAYED ANY of the SOCOM games? Ghost Recon is pretty much like that, only in first-person. By extension, since the makers of SOCOM are making this game, it's going to be LIKE THAT.

Now quit being a whiny little bitch and be thankful that we're getting RE multiplayer beyond story mode.

Have you played the original Ghost Recon. (sigh) The original Ghost Recon, SWAT 4... these are not what you think Ghost Recon is now (aka Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter).

Huh. So instead of Capcom developing a first party studios I Ps, they're getting Sony to make their games for them.

... Do you not remember how badly Outbreak failed? I'm pretty sure that's why they won't do multiplayer for more than 2 players by themselves.

Which is a shame really. I liked the Outbreak subseries.

Outbreak failed because of the incredibly stupid decision to exclude VOIP. You can't get any long term community going if they can't bloody communicate.

I thought Outbreak games failed miserably because of extremely limited item slots, that darned 0% to 100% deadline, and near impossible 3-person coordination. I sure has heck rather repeatedly getting 3 or 4 stars in Resident Evil 4 Mercenaries mode with different characters, rather than playing Outbreak

Raccoon City again? I'm fucking sick of that place! And I don't want a bunch of new soldiers, I want Billy Coen and that dude from RE5 back.

Think of it as the RE version of Opposing Force. Yeah, you're going back to Black Mesa, but from a different perspective.

That was Outbreak. And the second Outbreak. And the parts of the Chronicles games that starred new characters. Fuck Raccoon City.

No, the Outbreak games can be considered the Blue Shift of RE 2.

Also what new characters were in the Chronicles versions of RE 2?
