Heck, Tygra's luckier than Lion-O when you think about it.

Lion-O's stuck being king, being responsible and accountable for everything he does. Lion-O doesn't have a choice in what he wants to do with his life. Tygra gets to become ANYTHING. General? Scholar? Rich Idiot With No Day Job? He's not riches, prestige, and the ability to make out of his life anything he wants. No expectations to meet. No obligations. And he's bitter about that?

[up]Yeah, Tygra's basically the second most powerful guy in Thundera.

What Tygra's really bitter about is that the world isn't completely fair, because if it was fair then he would have still been king when Lion-O was born, he'd still have his mom, and he would have been able to be king because he worked hard to deserve it. Tygra's really just mad that there are things he can't control no matter how strong or smart or skilled he makes himself.

No matter how good life is, people will always want what they can't get, and then they get mad when despite everything they do to earn it the world still doesn't give it to them. It's all about perspective.

When you talked about the Cheetara flower thing....did you mean she didn't earn a right to be Cleric, since the flower was kinda like a cheat? Cause imo, she didn't learn any patience the moment she started using the flower. And Tygra's "you have to earn things" is really messed up with the Cheetara thing since, judging by what Cheetara said, she fell in love with him because he was nice to her and helped her become a Cleric, which i find upsetting, since she's supposed to be so dedicated, but she was about to give up on her dream just because she didn't get it the first time.....i really wish they'd write female characters who are strong enough to not give up and need someone else's help, then fall in love with them for that. It's stupid, and imho, almost as bad as the T/C comic relationship.

[up]I don't really see it that way because I try to be optimistic, but yeah, that's what I was referring to. I still think she learned patience because, flower or not, she's still sitting there doing nothing for days probably bored out of her mind with no idea if she would be accepted or not.

[up]I see. Yeah, she was sitting there for days, but i didn't like how she was about to give up and got handed the magic flower. Though i would have liked a better backstory for Tygra's resentment, and that line where Tygra implied he wished Lion-o hadn't been born made me super uncomfortable, given that this show is largely marketed at children, and they're easily influenced by the media.

[up]I sort of like that the show doesn't shy away from portraying these negative feelings, because its a part of human behavior. It also puts forth an effort to show that these aren't feelings that are fair, or 'nice' or right. And once you learn a person's story, your feelings on them can change, you come to understand their perspective, instead of just your own, or holding others to our own standards. This is not to condone wrong acts or mistreatment, but a key way to come to a peace with another is to understand why they are the way they are, to be empathetic. It makes forgiveness much easier. And I'm very glad to see that Lion-O has finally extended this empathy to his brother. It was one of my bones with him earlier in the series. Really, he was attempting to unite groups that had hated each others for decades, and he couldn't make peace with his own brother. What was worse; he was successful with complete strangers and not his brother. Fix your own problems before getting involved in anothers, but whatev, this is the way the story goes and I enjoy it regardless. Undoubtedly, if some of these issues had been spoken about earlier, the boys probably wouldn't have the problems with each other that they do now. Also @ hollowdheart- Really? You're not going to watch certain episodes because a complete stranger's opinions (which I also feel are incorrect) offend you? What impact does a stranger's thoughts have on YOUR enjoyment of the show? I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be rude, but that really makes no sense to me grin

[up]When did i say i wasn't going to watch certain episodes? I was just asking Star Outlaw if that was what he or she meant. And Lion-o didn't have as much of a problem with Tygra as Tygra did with him, for the sole reason that Lion-o's birth meant the Queen died and Tygra wasn't first in line as King. We never see Lion-o blame everything wrong in his life on Tygra (for being born, or otherwise), tell him he'll always be second place, or anything like that. And i'd find it hard to make up with someone who pushed me into a pit, or smashed a log i was on, and degraded my self worth/my dreams (no matter how crazy) for something that wasn't even my fault, just because some things didn't go his way when he was 2-3 years old. Life might not be fair, but no one deserves to be treated so horribly.

[up]I'm a he, by the way.

I agree with your points raquel. I think in real life people really do act like these characters do. Most characters in various media aren't as realistically flawed; then again, it could just be a way to explain inconsistent characterization and writing, but like I said, I'm being optimistic.

I mean, i didn't mean to upset anyone, i was just saying what i thought about the show/characters. And, FYI, i know how realistic Tygra's issues are (i've lived through something similar, on the emotionally/verbally abusive side who told me some of the things Tygra has said to Lion-o and some much worse), but i, personally, cannot just forgive and forget years of something like that because they thought they deserved something, or whatever. I don't think Lion-o should right away either. They both need to get help and try to work it out (Everyone needs therapists badly, BTW.)

Just saw Survival of the Fittest.....not impressed and kind of pissed at Cheetara and Panthro for abandoning the two in the forest, and the twins just leaving their home in the middle of the night to try and help their family was not a good example, given the children who watch and the hard economic times a lot of people are having.

A decent episode, nice to see the Wilys' origins. Not what I was expecting. Their poor mom must be worried to death though. I wonder if the twister that took their dad is the same one that blew the Petalars into the briars. I bet the dad is still alive somewhere. Hopefully.

Why didn't Cheetara and Panthro get any food out in the wild after they abandoned the twins? And they told the twins to come back with food or they'd have to sleep outside? What kind of logic is that? Don't the twins usually sleep in the Tank cause they're so small? And i feel like their story's been retconned, since in RR they said they had no where to go, but if the mom and siblings are still alive.....

Cheetara and Panthro might not have been hungry, they were just going through all this to teach the twins a lesson. As for making them sleep outside, they could have just been using it as an empty threat. And it may not be a retcon but just an oversight in the script. The twins may have decided not to return home until they found El Dara. I need to rewatch the episode.

Neither can I. It's the episode that almost everyone is the most excited about, since we'll be getting the first new main character, now that we've explored all the other character's back stories. I would have liked them to develop Cheetara more first though =/

...how many times have we seen the Cats actually eat meat? I can remember Panthro and Grune eating the giant hog in the flash back of "Old Friends," the Kittens eating the meat they stole in the first episode, and then the leftover fish bones in "Song of the Petalars." They're cats, but it looks like 90% of their diet has been tree fruits. At least we know that they do like meat. It would be weird if a cat didn't like meat.

My cat loves meat. 'Specially ham. I can't get the little fucker away from me when I'm trying to enjoy a nice ham sandwich. Still love the little fluff ball.

Anyway maybe we'll finally get a strong adult female lead who doesn't get tossed the idiot ball when ever "her man" is involved. Don't get me wrong I like Cheetara....until she gave bullshit reasons for her "hands on approach" with Lion-O. Other than that I don't mind her character.
