Hm. In recent memory (for me), there's Sonic Colors, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirbys Epic Yarn, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and... Bayonetta.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Pretty much all the Devil May Crys, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Bayonetta spring to mind.
"Everyone wants an answer, don't they?... I hate things with answers." — Grant MorrisonThat's never happened to me. Not even once. It's rare enough that I finish a game to begin with.
But I always did it because I try to beat them in the highest difficulty. And most of these games had one that had to be unlocked.

It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.Metroid Prime 3...Metroid Fusion
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackSuper Robot Taisen: Original Generation 2 for GBA.
This acutally standard for me. I might not always finish the second run but once I finish the credits on the first play through it's back to new game for me.
In the quiet of the night, the Neocount of Merentha mused: How long does evolution take, among the damned? If it counts, I replayed Final Fantasy VII again shortly after reaching the end of the game because I was considerably underleveled and couldn't beat the last boss, along with the fact that I'd missed most of the sidequests and really didn't want to do any grinding...
Welcome to th:|Tales Of Symphonia and Tail Concerto. The latter was borrowed, though, so I wanted to get as much playing out of it as I could before I had to send it back.
"I could go on listing the stupid design decisions... so I will!" — Yahtzee's job descriptionSuper Mario Galaxy, cause I kinda had to, Kirbys Epic Yarn, cause I kinda had to, and Donkey Kong Country Returns....cause I kinda had to.

Any of the Fire Emblem games. Usually on the new fancy hard mode. Or on normal so I can start my series of support runs.
Sonic Colors because I had to in order to get Super Sonic and then S rank the fuck out of the game. I am still working on this.

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahNone whatsoever.
I play games like how I watch movies: Once, and let the impression sink in gradually. Only do it twice if the movie was a bit confusing (Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas) or if the movie was just that damn good (Spirited Away, Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas)

Spirit Tracks, just cause
AC:NL Dream Address: 5200-2582-5967Mass Effect 2
Condemned 2: Bloodshot
Turok: Evolution
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
The Darkness
Borderlands
Urban Chaos: Riot Response (or something like that)
Manhunt
Halo 1-3
Resident Evil 4 (like 12 times in a row)
I play games just to see their plots conclude so I hardly even replay games, but I've replayed Max Payne 2 until I've finished the hardest difficulty - people who have played the game know why. It wasn't even that hard, I've heard the first game is much more punishing at harder difficulties. That was pretty much the only occurrence of this with me.

Unsurprisingly, Phantasy Star Online and Phantasy Star Portable 2 (which of course, is kind of the point, since beating the game once is about 1/4 of the way through it).
City Of Heroes, as well. I capped three characters in the game and filled up all the slots I had in Virtue. I have about 3 or 4 more characters in the mid 30s to late 40s.
I did it for Final Fantasy Tactics, mainly because I missed the bonus dungeon.
Oh, and Earth Defense Force 2017, too. In fact, I've beaten all the missions at least three times, and I'm still aiming to finish inferno mode at some point.

Any Tales Series game, the GRADE system makes for one hell of a New Game Plus.

Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is pretty much the only game I've done this for as described, but there are certain games which I will replay and replay and replay and never get tired of. I even made a topic about it in the mists of time.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaThis is my standard approach to games. Play them once, then replay the hell out of them.
- Mass Effect 2
- Mass Effect
- Halo Reach, 'cause I had to beat it on Legendary
- Batman Arkham Asylum
- The Force Unleashed, 'cause beatin' up punks with the Force is really goddamn fun

There is an art, it says, or rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.Persona 4. And I had a couple other games I hadn't played yet lined up. It was just that good.

...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.
Did you ever start a game over and play again right from the beginning right after you won - the first time you played it?
I had this experience way back with Super Mario RPG. It was just so much fun. I beat it in 6 days, and then what did I do? Start a new savegame. Likewise with the first Super Mario Galaxy, where I was quick to start over with Luigi.
There are few games that inspire an instant replay, especially after beating them the first time, but for me, those two sure did.
I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones!
