Ah, just a nice simple animation with beautiful music. That's great.

So E. Gadd and Stuffwell are still around.

Interesting that he's still using the Superstar Saga sprites for Mario and Luigi despite upgrading Bowser to his Bowser's Inside Story self. I guess because they're easier to edit and people have made more custom sprites for them.

Maybe he just likes them better.

I know that they're my definitive official sprites of the brothers.

I've always liked the SS sprites more.

Man, it's like Nintendo made Bowser's Inside Story just so Alvin could have some great Bowser sprites to use.

He's still got it. Can't wait for the full episode to come out.

Is it good?

I'm not subscribed, but it is 32 minutes long, consdensing the first 2 episodes of the original together, and Alvin-Earthworm thinks the animation blows episodes 7 and 8 out of the park, at least.

I don't feel that much sympathy for him considering he's supposedly doing this for fun, but, I don't know what his life's like or what this series means to him.

It's funny because I didn't realize that this series was "ground-breaking" in the flash animation community for awhile. I mean, the plot's basically Dragonball + Mario and Sonic, but, the series reputation is rather legendary. That could be a lot of pressure I suppose.

It's because there were stuff like that before, but He made it good.

he has my empathy, especially when he had rabid fans crawling down his back chanting "Whens the next episode, whens the next episode?"

Apparently, Monty Oum was influenced by him as well to start freelance animation instead of animation design at Bandai, and so were Screwattack when they first started doing Death Battle.

Monty Oum was influenced by SMBZ? I knew that the series was influential but I didn't know that it inspired Monty Oum. Holy crap!

A lot of influential things seem more run-of-the-mill now but were really big in their day. Another internet series in the same genre that ended up like that is Xiao Xiao.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! IT'S....SHOWTIME!

This episode made me realise we need a Bowser version of "F" by Maximum the Hormone.

My eyeballs screamed at the epicness.

I'm not sure why that one Mario voice clip of him saying Luigi was slowed down, that kind of made that one joke go even slower than the original version.

I like how it feels less like a Dragon Ball Z parody and more like a Smash Bros. Action series. Fits in more with both series tbh.

So now we wait maybe a year for the next episode :V

Alright, so this episode basically covered Episodes 1 & 2 of the original; Episode 3 was about 15 minutes and was mostly an info dump on introducing Sonic & Shadow and the Chaos Emeralds. If all episodes are 30 minutes in length, then we might get the Koopa Bros. in that extra 15 minutes.

The way Mario and Bowser traded fire blast definitely felt more DBZ like than anything in the original episode 2.

I'm not sure if that is entirely true just yet.

Well, that was nice.

Loved the use of the One Punch Man OST near the end.

.....How come Luigi was able to just jump into the ring like that? At least Waluigi was summoned via Trophy (and arguably counted as a weapon).

Wario attempting to Chomp Mario was great. I'm a Wario main in SSB so Wario attempting to eat things/people makes me chuckle.
