I'm not very good at this,so I might need some advice. Alright, here's the situation: My character is a superhero of a sort, and he has two women in his life. One is an actress who has a crush on him,and the other is a doctor who is also a superhero and both of them have met before as superheroes, and are trying to figure out whether or not the other's secret identity is who they think it is.

Any pointers or advice?

Write them as friends. Just friends. Only friends. Then, start to see how they react in sexual situations.

Author Appeal.

It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.

Make sure they're well developed, 3 dimentional characters. Having this will avoid them becoming sattelite charaters. You also want to avoid characters that have 'Love Interest' written above them in big neon letters. Doing as AHR suggesten and making them friends first is a good way to go (although, anytime a male character and a female character is introduced, some are going to start shipping).

You shouldn't worry so much about writing the love interest as a love interest. It should be more about writing both characters as characters, and then figuring out how their relationship would work.

One thing that I've learned in my experiences is to see how the love interest acts when she's not around the hero. Having her go through her daily routine, hanging out with her friends, and more should flesh out her character beyond just being the hero's arm candy.

Usually, I don't write "love interests". I write a bunch of characters, and if two of them are suprsingly compatible, I'll consider shipping them. That being said, there's nothing wrong with planned romance. Try to come up with both the hero and the love interest separatly. If you're worried about ending up with incompatible characters, I suggest seeing if the hero's personality matches up with any of the zodiac signs, and if he does, look at which signs are most compatible with that sign and base his love interests off of two of those signs.

‽‽‽‽ ^These are interrobangs. Love them. Learn them. Use them.

Thanks. I'll mess around with it and see what it can do.
