I like radio mostly for its being free and relatively simple, and also because I do love to be able to enjoy news and stories that I can experience while keeping my hands busy, which TV does not always allow because it also needs your eyes.

I remember, I used to listen to Radio plays on the Christian station, even though I am an atheist, just because the idea of radio plays was so cool to me.

Over here, old Auntie Beeb still maintains things like radio drama (as well as comedy, documentaries etc.) on Radio 4, so I guess we're quite lucky. It's actually fairly popular as well, though is usually considered a bit middle-aged and middle-class in its outlook, so it still is somewhat underrated. Sometimes better than the telly. Well, the news coverage definitely is.

Commercial stations are still dominated by almost wall-to-wall pop music and a bit of news and sport. Classic FM aside. Sadly.
