It's kinda hard to tell exactly what's going on in the image.

I don't quite get the image. If no better ones can be found then this one is better than no image, but as someone who hasn't played the game(?) that this is based on I don't quite get the joke.

Is it supposed to be a satire on how relationship values are arbitrary and are greatly influenced by things which would be small and meaningless in real life?

I get the idea, but there's no connection between random event and going a rank up. It just...happens.

It's not godawful, but I don't like it.

And, yeah, a Dragon Age image would be perfect...but I don't know how we'd find an image. I don't like this one at all, but it's generally what I'm looking for. [1]◊

Without knowing the source that one makes no sense at all.

The original one is a joke about the arbitrariness of the values changing. It deliberately makes no sense, which is almost certainly a bad trait for a page image.

How about an actual example of this Social Link Sequence from Persona 4

Or an actual obvious choice that will affect your relationship This is going to end badly for 2 of the 3◊

I don't play any of the games mentioned and I'm a bit lost. I get the idea, but the "rank up" interface is a bit alien to me.

Would the relationship values in The Sims work? I can fire up the game and copy-paste the relationship image.

Wouldn't hurt.

May take a while. I haven't played Sims 3 for a while and it needs to be updated.

Going with the convo going on in Dating Sim thread what about one of or a sequence of these?

I think we are over complicating this here. The best picture for showing what's actually happening would be one that shows the values going up or down, ala dragon age. For this purpose the best picture posted would be the one Dragon age comic. Maybe if we cropped it and used just the last panel?

I don't play Persona and have only a vague idea what's going on there.

I'm still going for The Sims. Hell, the whole game has a system for that.

I have no idea what I'm looking at, at any of the suggestions.

Do you think they're enough when considered in the page's context, though?

Please note that even if you don't know the specifics of what is going on, it is EXTREMELY clear that someone disapproves, and someone approves, and that this has a numerical effect stuff.

That picture is much, much better. It seems a little big though, would resizing it keep the necessary detail?

Off the top of my head I'm not sure what the normal page size is for an image, but I'm pretty sure we can shrink it enough to fit without losing the important details.

EDIT: I just tried it at 300width and it is still legible.
