A few weeks ago, I posted a list of Copy Ability mix ideas I had, combining the mechanics of Kirby 64 and Kirby: Squeak Squad. Well, my dream is becoming a reality now, with addition to the grand return of Helpers...for 4-player co-op! YES!

"YOU SHALL FEEL THE FLOWER'S WRATH"Did not expect this so soon, considering we're getting three Kirby spinoffs this year and it's been barely a year since the previous mainline entry.
I'm definitely surprised to see a Kirby game come out for the Switch so soon. Usually games don't come out for consoles until near the end of the life cycle.
Call me Willy Whistle 'cause I can't speak, baby. Something in TV Tropes really drove me crazy.Nintendo and its sidekicks are definitely being more aggressive than usual with the Switch.
I sure said that!That's a good(?) thing...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.The return of power combining is making me more excited than you can imagine.
Here's to hoping it's like 64 instead of only allowing specific combos
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaWell, we've seen fire+sword, water+bomb, and the returning combo of ice+stone.
Hopefully the game still has a wide variety of individual powers, though, and not just seven like in 64.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Maybe certain combos won't work? I'd prefer that system to 64's.
In addition to the return of that mechanic, the expanded Helper mechanics seem to be inspired by the long-lost GameCube Kirby platformer.

Well, in 64, there were certain combos that were more powerful than others. For every Bomb + Cutter and Burning + Bomb we had something like Burning + Ice.
Call me Willy Whistle 'cause I can't speak, baby. Something in TV Tropes really drove me crazy.
Yeah, I noticed that Helpers returned. They were going to be in that long-long Kirby game, but yeah.
Also, freaking Clean is back.
"YOU SHALL FEEL THE FLOWER'S WRATH"Clean is an ability that sounds fun as hell to work with.
I sure said that!So I wonder now, will the Switch Kirby game have the same amount of plot as the previous games?
"Punishment is not the answer. Punishment is easy. It's lazy. Redemption is hard. Redemption makes you work."-Skulduggery PleasantSeeing as there's this strange purple mist thing seemingly controlling Wispy Woods, I think there will be a pretty important plot.
I think it may be Dark Matter or some similar force. Even if Meta Knightmare Returns is technically "Non-canon", it still doesn't mean that Star Dream may still have some of it stored. Maybe destroying it let it go free?
Then again, it could be something different, as Dark Matter is represented with black energy rather than purple.
"YOU SHALL FEEL THE FLOWER'S WRATH"I mean, Purple Is the New Black- I'd say anything's possible.
It'd be pretty great to see the Dark Matter Trilogy era bosses redone in the frantic post-Super Star Ultra style, though.
I sure said that!03 plz
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeI want a planet-sized 03.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
We better fight it with the Halberd too!
"YOU SHALL FEEL THE FLOWER'S WRATH"I can't believe it! I actually got my "Super Star-style copy abilities + Crystal Shards-style combination mechanic" dream game!
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?I also noticed a Water + Hammer ability, forgot to mention that one.
Not to rain on the parade, but it could be that power-combining is just a more in-depth version of Squeak Squad's, rather than a free system like 64's; so far all the combinations seem like "weapon" abilities like Hammer, Sword, and Bomb infused with "element" abilities like Fire, Ice, and Water. Stone + Ice is the only oddity, but it seems to function like a more slippery version of Stone.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! But it's shaped like that...that...that...thing.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Which is a charming nod to 64, yes, but functionally it seems to just be a low-friction version of Stone that freezes enemies. I don't think we'll be able to combine every power with every other power like in 64. It seems like an expanded version of Squeak Squad's system, where you were just infusing certain powers with elemental properties. If you look at Kirby's health bar, the powers are still displayed as just "Sword" or "Hammer", but with a fancy elemental graphic on the side.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!curling stone, like in 64

"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaA curling stone.
Anom's theory is about what I expect. Which is fine by me. I'd prefer a small amount of in-depth abilities with multiple elemental variations to a completely unique but simplistic ability for every combination.

I find this interesting. It is pretty clear the map was for testing purposes, though.
