Southern Comfort?
I haven't but it's on my to do list.
Oh really when? Also there's seems to be another translated one I think: Northern Passage.
Give me cute or give me...something?Oh I didn't know they had then in english. where can I get then?
hashtagsarestupidNecro time! So help me as long as this game is interesting I shall poke this thread periodically to ask things.
So I usually run with Call of Pripyat Complete because fixes and textures and nice things but I'm eyeing Arsenal Overhaul because Gun Porn is my life.
Damn, they do conflict.
If only I knew how to merge things properly.

Oh really when?Is there mods that only do graphics improvement and don't touch game aspects?
Give me cute or give me...something?I thought this was the gonna big news about new game!
Not much of a modder so I can't help you, sorry bro. But i've heard good things about absolute nature 3.
You guys watch any Twitch streamers Bytheway? I like WT Fsexyheadphones' videos because she seems to be a big fan of the games.
hashtagsarestupidResurrecting this again, to ask if anyone knows any console commands to:
- Move a stuck character, or
- Resurrect a dead character
I might have used a few too many bugs...
Massive necro. Playing through Call of Pripyat at the moment, for the first time in years, and I've finally cracked the secret of the Oasis quest that I've been stuck on since I bought the game. And for this playthrough I've finally got my group of stalkers ready to do the underground run to Pripyat. Most of the difficulty in that was finding Strider as he wasn't in the Yanov Station when I went to look for him. Only to turn up hours later (in real time) after I'd ran round the area like a headless zombie trying to find him.
edit. Finally made it through to Pripyat, getting killed a few times on the way and losing some buddies. Thanks to save scumming, I still got all of them through the tunnel to the other side.

And now I have my first Exoskeleton, and I've given Cardan such a fright with showing him the Gauss Rifle I got from the Monolith sniper in Pripyat that he should be doing mods to my kit without the need for any vodka passing his way.
Things that annoy me: artifacts that won't spawn even though I've got my Sverog detector out and it's showing me that they're there. Burned through about six medkits before I decided enough was enough and sacked it for the night.
Weird. Is it maybe falling under something or spawning above or below you?
Oh really when?I pointed both my Bear and Svarog detectors at the sky and got a better signal than if I held them horizontally. But still couldn't grab the artifact as it didn't pop out. Most annoying. Degtyarev's grunts as a Burner anomaly smacks him in the teeth are pitiful. Still, I did get some rarer artifacts earlier on. (This was in the middle of the Circus Anomaly, so there's lots of Burners to stumble into)
Apart from that I'm loving my Exoskeleton - ran into a Pseudogiant in the Testing Workshop and it helped me stay alive long enough for my medkits to finish the job of doing so, and my SA Avalanche rifle to kill the bastard. And I'm now Marked By The Zone, so I don't have to go hiding from emissions any more.

Oh yeah, Garcon, you asked about merging mods and stuff? Well, I don't know how to do it myself, but this site may be helpful:

I downloaded Shadow of Chernobyl from Steam. Any mods you recommend for it?
I used to recommend the Complete mod for Shadow of Chernobyl, but it seems the community's moved away from that one as it's not been updated since 2009. Here's a page with some mods that are newer - http://www.moddb.com/games/stalker/mods
Oblivion Lost looks promising.
I also used Complete but I haven't played Shadow of Chernobyl in quite some time.
Oh really when?Just finished my first playthrough of Call of Pripyat in years. Bloody good game even after all this time. The Gauss Rifle feels like cheating - one shot on pretty much anything apart from Pseudogiants and that's all she wrote. But it also feels quite good popping Bloodsuckers who're so far away they don't even see you.
And now I'm near the end of Shadow of Chernobyl. Just had the pleasure of blowing the crap out of an Awesome Personnel Carrier with half a dozen grenades in lieu of being able to find a sodding RPG-7. All the while trying to avoid being shot the hell out of by not only its main armament but two sneaky bastard Military snipers who were armed with the same gat I had and were almost impossible to see due to their quite good firing positions.
I failed miserably at this for a while but then got gud. Then I got past the bit where I was bottlenecked only to be again shot the hell out of by various Monolith veterans and better, who had Gauss rifles and/or Exoskeletons.
Time for a short break in play then I'm going back in to make those bastards pay for not being nice.
edited to add.
Finally got in the Sarcophagus, shot the shit out of the C-Consciousness and got the "Strelok lies in a meadow field of greenness and rests after all the slaughter" ending. Which is nice.

New week, new post. And this time I bring news. The two currently translated-into-English Stalker novels are available, for free, and legally, from Smashwords.
https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/264776 for Southern Comfort
and
https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/266392 for Northern Passage.
Really? Sweet. I've always wanted those.
Oh really when?Yeah, really. I've wanted them for a while myself. Only found out where I could get them tonight, literally.
New "finished at least two of the iterations of the game on Master difficulty" post. Clear Sky's last mission is unfair as hell. Did it anyway as sometimes I can be a masochist when it comes to gaming, but it wasn't enjoyable at all. I can't believe it was play-tested without the testers getting slaughtered continuously as well.
Finally found a game mod for a STALKER game that I thoroughly DO NOT recommend. It's this piece of shit:
http://www.moddb.com/mods/old-good-stalker-evolution
I've got a pretty powerful PC, but almost every time I try to run this pile of crap it crashes to desktop on start-up. And even if I get into the game, woe betide me if I try to change ANY setting. Because it will promptly crash. And that's with following all the instructions that are meant to get the thing running.
I persist in trying because other folks have said that they can run the game, and it's pretty good, so I want some of that myself. But I'm starting to think that it just ain't gonna happen.
Which is a pity as most of the STALKER mods have been pretty decent over all.
Who watches the watchmen? Finally got this OGSE thing to run for more than five minutes.
Wish to f*&k that I hadn't bothered. It's not the game's difficulty that's the problem, it's the shitty localization job, the nerfing of shotguns against Pseudodogs for example, so that they tank double headshots, or flat out miraculously avoid getting hit at point blank range, which no other Pseudodog in any of the games or mods I've played have ever managed to do, and the fact I'm being made to feel like I can't play these kinds of games.
Which is bullshit since I did all the STALKER games on master, and both Metro games on Ranger fucking Hardcore.
Yet since I've spent all this time trying to get the game to run I feel like I'm being pressured into playing the damned thing.
Fucking respect. I played the Metro games on hardcore, but STALKER is hard enough without me bumping the difficulty up even more.
Recently I've been playing Call of Chernobyl with the Warfare expansion. It's a different experience for sure, but that might be good for you if OGSE is annoying you.
yey
BTW: anyone here read the translated novels?
Give me cute or give me...something?
