IF Bungie and their Activision masters didn't continually do these stupid, anti-consumer, and customer unfriendly things to their playerbase, folks like Jim Sterling and others wouldn't continually make videos pointing out that Bungie and their Activision masters were continually doing these stupid, anti-consumer, and customer unfriendly things to their playerbase.

The problem is that the supposed "XP throttling" was minimal and now almost all the other activities don't give you shit.

It was a standardization formula, not a cap on XP gains to force you to buy bright engrams.

Well maybe a bit of column A and a bit of column B but given the effects to all other activities I'd say it's much more A than B

Yeah, I'm really sick of everyone complaining about the game so much myself. You go to the Destiny subreddit and almost every post is just bitching about the game over and over again.

Yeah, that used to be one of my favorite places on the internet and now it's just a cesspit.

I'm not a reddit user myself, but that sounds like the subreddit just turned into the Bungie forums.

To be honest, I never even noticed a problem with exp gains. I don't currently play enough to get all three rest bonus levels per character per week anyway, and I feel like giving us ways to get bright engrams and cosmetic gear without having to spend at all is already pretty generous. I've forgotten exactly how it worked now, but it was way harder to get cosmetic gear in D1.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. If you're playing enough that you're hitting a cap or ceiling on levels and stuff, you're probably playing too much. I like this game, don't get me wrong, but there's not enough in it to keep me playing it that much.

I don't really notice it either, myself. Maybe because I'm so used to the Light level system that's more dependent on your equipment than anything else.

We're not really talking about leveling up to level 20, we're talking about the post-20 leveling up, where you get a bright engram each time you do. Leveling to 20 is a breeze.

Yeah, I know. I'm still not that bothered by it, especially since a Bright Engram just gets you shaders and stuff, doesn't it?

Yes, mostly. Ships, Sparrows and weapon ornaments can also be included, but yes, just aesthetic material.

Anyway, considering we're talking about microtransactions and that was mostly about scaling XP gains, I don't really see much of a problem with the Bright Engrams issue.

It's mainly an issue on PC, where players only got about a month to get all the Season 1 exclusive stuff like the Exotic Emotes and Sparrows.

All events in the game are lining up with console now that the game's released.

Season 2 is starting this winter and PC had a delayed release. All platforms will have all their stuff happen at the same time.

Looked at that way, it is rather shitty. I wasn't aware there were season one exclusives though, I just assumed new stuff would be added rather than taken away.

The Exotic Emotes, Exotic Ships, Exotic Sparrows, and Legendary Armor will be replaced come the end of the season.

That said, yeah, the complaining about the game itself gets annoying to me, too. I'm *happy* there's a point where I can put the game down for a while and play something else until the next update without feeling like I have to grind forever to keep up.

I like there's a point I can say I've played enough instead of just quitting from exhaustion.

Yeah. Like I said in the subreddit, this isn't an MMO where there'll always be something to do that you haven't done before.

Anyway, did the Iron Banner some today. I'm not really sure how it works now, do you just get armor as you level up in the ranks?

Yup. Saladin is just like any other vendor now with tokens.

We'll see if that changes next season.

Huh. Alright then. I'll hopefully be able to play more of the Iron Banner next month, when I'm not as busy.

Does it? I got my Season 1 Iron Banana emblem, sure, but the armor just didn't want to drop. I got arms and two chests, and that was all. That and a couple of guns, luckily the scout rifle was among them.

Also, I find sidearms ridiculous. They're near-useless, unless you get very close and have a particular sidearm like Last Hope, Etana SI 4 or Athelflad. Then, things go to hell in a handbasket for your opponents.

Yea, they have ind of said that on the first stream that they are switching back to a buy what you want system for the iron banner.

I have two fucking Sidearms for my Kinetic and Energy weapons. I'm so annoyed XD Stupid Power level.

You don't have to use them you know. Loot drops take into account stuff in your vault and your inventory.

Not just your equipped weapons.

Power above 260 doesn't mater, just use what your comfy with, and keep the higher powered item.
