If it's explicitly stated in the text of the fanfic, then it counts as In-Universe. If it's just the "fandom as a whole" then it doesn't.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickErrrm... Bump?
Did anyone go through and clean the examples? It doesn't look like it, but most of them are fanfic examples, just organized according to the source material.
That's because the page itself says "Fandoms this trope is especially prevalent in."
So it's a discussion of an Audience Reaction, not a trope.
I despise hypocrisy, unless of course it is my own. That still doesnt change that the examples have nothing to do with the trope
It just lists homosexual pairings. Thats not what the trope is for
Anyway, made single prop crowner on keeping the examples or not.

Crowner hooked.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickSo wait, let me clarify.
Is the single prop also there to redefine the trope? Because I don't think you can do an In Universe Examples Only on an Audience Reaction without changing the trope definition.
I despise hypocrisy, unless of course it is my own. It's been done many times. Squee is a good example. It basically turns the trope from an Audience Reaction, to a Character Reaction, but the core trope doesn't change.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickBump for more votes.
Cut examples. No need for 'em.
"You want to see how a human dies? At ramming speed." - Emily Wong.I'm not wholly convinced of a need to get rid of all examples (aggressive deletion of non-examples is, however, clearly necessary), but there should definitely be a concise explanation of what this trope is and isn't within the article.
"A supporter once called out, 'Governor Stevenson, all thinking people are for you!' And Adlai Stevenson answered, 'That's not enough.Crowner's been here forever, and is pretty decisive, will do it. Please lock
Okay, if the examples are for in-universe stuff now, should the description be rewritten to focus less on real life people who complain about het pairings?
somethingI know this is bumping a relatively old topic, but is this the sort of page that really even needs examples? Why not make it a trivia page or something?
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterSince this is a page about fan attitudes, not a trope about character opinions, in-universe examples don't really illustrate it. We may as well delete them.
The examples now make this confusing. The description is about attitudes towards works of fiction, yet the examples seem to include characters who are against actual* heterosexual relationships, with no mention of how they feel about het fiction. Seriously, the only in-universe example that matches the description is the Yu-Gi-Oh The Abridged Series one.
Actually, this seems to be the same concern expressed in post 25.

somethingThe examples were deleted. This can be locked.
Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
What about examples from fanfics, then?
Rhymes with "Protracted."
