Anyone here a fan of Christopher Moore? I for the most part enjoy his books, though I think he has trouble with endings sometimes.

Bumping, because I just finished Bite Me and want to talk about it. This one just reinforced my belief that he can't write romantic endings to save his life.

Yeah, the guy's definitely got trouble with wrapping books up properly. For me, he's pretty hit-or-miss. Fluke Or I Know Why The Winged Whale Sings, Lamb The Gospel According To Biff, and The Lust Lizard Of Melancholy Cove were all really good, but I was pretty lukewarm towards most of his others, and was ultra-super-dissapointed by how poorly A Dirty Job panned out.

[up]Good God was A Dirty Job a trainwreck at the end. Wasn't really big on Fluke's ending either.

Yeah I've read a few. Very hit-and-miss for me. Endings definitely a problem (Bite Me is a good example).

Bite Me in general was a bit of a mess.

I loved Lamb and Fool but his obsession with raunch sometimes gets a little much.

Now I'm going to bump it. Any opinions on Sacre Blue? Think it's part of his verse or is it independent like Fool?

Strongly agree with everyone about the endings. I think Lamb is the only one I can think of that has turned out well, although Fool wasn't bad either.

For the record I've read the Vampire trilogy, (You Suck, Bloodsucking Fiends, and Bite Me) Lamb, Fool and A Dirty Job.

So far my opinion is that Lamb is by far his best, Fool and Dirty Job were good, (although Dirty Job is spoiled somewhat by its ending, and Fool has a few issues of its own) and the Vampire stories were a big load of meh in my opinion.

So, in your varied opinions were Fool and Sacre Bleu part of his main universe or seperate? I saw no hints that they were part of his 'verse but maybe others did?

I read Sacre Bleu. Either it continues Moore's inability to write endings and handle couples correctly, or it really was supposed to be a bad ending and it was just written without much gravitas.

[up]I assume all his books are in the same 'verse unless otherwise noted.
