But it's not exactly the same...you're thinking of something like Shanghai Noon or Kuroshitsuji, where they inspire Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to have the idea of Sherlock Holmes, right? Maybe In the Past, Everyone Will Be Famous, but that's not exactly it either.

It brings to mind an endless recursion. Goethe bases his version of Faust as a gender inversion of his gf's puella magi life and her redemption in death, Urobuchi and SHAFT bash out PMMM based on Faust, which in turn inspires fanfic of Goethe being influenced by a girl he knew- (Arbitary Loop exception HALT)
Ouch, I walked into that logic loop. I can't imagine what the poor Tibetan Girl in Episode 12 wished for though. Did she Wish for the Dalai Lama to become their Messiah? Would her Witch have Tibetan Monks or Red Guards as familiars?
Multicultural Puella Magi would be fun to envision in some of the odd cultures. Perhaps some of the demonesses and "spirits" in old Chinese myth are based on Puella Magi?
