So my Rebellion Guidebook came today.
I almost didn't want to open it because of the Charlotte-symbol-sticker, but I did anyway and stuck the sticker inside.
It was pretty, but I was kinda disappointed there were no pictures of Demon Homura.
Also, does anyone else here think that Sayaka is probably a bit of a Western-ophile? She strikes me as the type who'd be interested in European History, especially stuff like Ancient Rome.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them. Her sword sure looks pretty Western to me.
Mami's got the musketeer-style costume, though.
She also gives her attacks Italian names.
Heart of StoneI could see 'Law of Cycles' Sayaka calling herself Sayaka Augustus, because its a dumb pun I'm sorry D:.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.Is there a limit to how long one should dwell on Rebellion? (warning: possible Wangst) Because I still can't seem to get over what Homura did. I mean, intellectually, I (think I) get the reasonings put forth out there - at least, I can't make any logical argument against them. But I picture that scene when she grabs Madoka out of Madokami and I fly into a quiet rage ("Why?! WHY?!!") because I felt...betrayed, I guess. And I know I really shouldn't, because A) she's a fictional character, B) even if she wasn't, she's her own person (i.e., not just an extentsion of me), and C) I've done nothing (nor can I do anything) to deserve my input having any role in her decision-making.
And then I go and turn it on myself for being so emotionally immature (and reminding myself of the Kyubey doll story again), for fleeing evidence in favor of grasping for straws for any sort of hope that she can turn back in Season 2 (I'm such a sucker for redemption), for thinking and acting so much like her I get terrified of myself when I realize it (self-flagellation included), for getting so worked up over a work of goddamn fiction in the first place.
This can't be healthy at all. Though it probably explains why I'm a Jets fan.
OK, rant done. My apologies to anyone who got curious and peeked at the spoilers and had to read that - I just needed a place to put it out.

We all have our episodes that we have epic long grudges against. There's a guy who has an infamous hatred for the finale to Teen Titans, to the point where he has been said to be traumatized from it... Even though the most that came out of that finale was that "I Just Wanna Be Normal, Beast Boy.".
But here's the thing: it's natural for you to have your grudge and betrayal. You watched the show loyally and was horrified to see your reward be that someone betrayed their own morals and lessons that they learned. I've experienced that too. In time, that betrayal and grudge will decrease. Sure, it won't be gone like {snap} that, but in about a few years, you'll look back and notice that your anger towards it has diminished.
To be fair, I'm pretty sure you were supposed to react that way to that scene.
It'd be a betrayal if Homura had understood and was simpatico with why Madoka did what she did and then simply changed her mind, but like I said she never internalized those values.
Anyways I was thinking Mami's aesthetics imply more Post-Reformation stuff. Prussian came to mind though obviously her attacks are in Italian.

These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.Homura doesn't exist, but writers do. It's not illogical to feel betrayed by writers if you think they went back on things they promised you.
And I think poorly set-up twists can feel like that. Some people (like that one ) disagree with me, but I thought the set up of the end twist in Rebellion was pretty weak.

‽‽‽‽ ^These are interrobangs. Love them. Learn them. Use them.I know have the imagery of Sayaka wearing a mask, medieval European Knight clothing, and calling herself "Ms. Chivalry".

I've always said that Sayaka is this verse's Saber for a reason after all.
On a different note, should Sayaka indeed be the protagonist if their is a sequel, I want her to have a similar theme to this:
NO.
Sayaka doesn't deserve that song.
Not even if she takes a level in badass?
And heck, since she has a recurring motif of water, the whole "Before My Body Is Dry" theme could note that she has to win before she runs out of time. Symbolism FTW!

Sayaka is nowhere near Ryuko's level of badassery.
This is the song she deserves and needs:

In the Nightmare Fuel Subpage there used to be mention of Kyubey's true form yet it seems it has been removed...
Has new information gone out that reveals it wasn't Kyubey's true form?

Since you mentioned GG, this should play should Sayaka and Kyouko team up again:
"True form"? Wha?
‽‽‽‽ ^These are interrobangs. Love them. Learn them. Use them.Hahaha, was reading the Wikipedia page on Goethe's Faust, Mephistopheles was initially disguised as a poodle.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.& Mephistopheles was a poodle? I wonder what fans will make of that?
"Eratoeir is a Gangsta."
I want this.
