Making up something that is both ridiculous and imposing.

So I had this weird little idea of incoporing a Baba Yaga expy IN SPAAAACE! in a science fiction setting, and as you probably know, baba Yaga's house has a pair of chicken legs.

So this version of Baba Yaga's house not only has robotic chicken legs but is also packed with so many weaponry it would make Orks blush. You know, with chain guns popping out of the windows and missiles emerging from the roof, that kind of stuff.

As you can see, it sounds pretty silly but here is the thing, I want it to be a threat too. How would I make Baba Yaga's chicken house along with other oddball props be threatening while still being rather silly or ridiculous?

... Sorry, but chicken legs just aren't threatening. If they weren't chicken leg shaped, then maybe.

You could just refer to it obliquely, like Alan Wake did with Barbara Jagger and the Bird's Leg Cabin.

I think it sounds fine the way it is. Who cares if it has chicken legs if there's enough weaponry to blow a planet to bits.

You mean something like this? Go back and forward a few pages for more silly but threatening stuff. Or just archive binge the whole comic.

Aside from, "Keep in mind that threatening can come from what it's capable of as much as, or more than, what it looks like"? Well, chicken feet aren't that different from eagle's feet, and I wouldn't mess with something that had eagle's feet.
