Harass away on weekends— no matter how busy I say I am, I can surely manage 300 words in a 24 hours period. I just want a break on Fridays 'cause. :P

Thanks for the all fish!

And your harassing paid off; I have finished another scene, albeit a very short one. 400 words of script.

Be not afraid...

Slightly over 750, maybe I'll add some more later. Wanna fragment? grin

“Yo! Babayaga!”, the boy shouted as he saw the wickerwork walls of the witch's hut. As much as the children feared the hag, the attitude tended to change once they entered their teenage years. The girls preferred to show politeness to her in case they'd need her in the future, while the boys took the opposite way as a mean of showing off their bravado.

“Up yours!”, the hag answered from inside of the hut.

Put me down for 300 words a day. Admittedly I'm more of a over 900 or nothing kind of writer (like ~1500 yesterday, none so far today) but I should still be writing everyday.

321 words. For a story about adopting an orphan my story involves a lot of breaking and entering.

Let's see... Evan sorta kidnaps his son Al from being left on a doorstep. And then later breaks into one ancestral home, one prodigious high school, one prison, one egomaniac's forgotten temple to himself, and possibly a manor house, and a bank. Yeah.

As for how Al's an orphan? Well there's a bit of wholesome necromancy going on.

This is such a good idea.

Why don't I start at 250 words per day! Cut me some slack, though. By the way, do I have to post these words anywhere, or just let everyone know that I achieved the goal?

I hope you enjoy whatever is written above. If not - well, I'm afraid that's life.

Over around 250, but I feel a bit awkward about the scene. I think it's in for rewriting again. By the way, should I announce my progress daily here, or would you be fine if it was just by priv in answer to your harassment?

Glad to hear it.

Um, I'm wondering if I should allow editing to count as part of the wordcount, or if it should be keprt as only entirely new writing...

PM'ing or on the thread are both fine. On the thread will let me keep track of it better, though- and keep it bumped, so newer people can see the thread and maybe join up if they want.

Well I just wrote 322 for the snowflake thread, not sure it really counts... Marc is the protagonist I'm working with, but he's a little out of place.

EDIT(ha): for editing, I think it should be a similar amount of time to what it would take to write your daily goal to count. Not just editing say 300 words.

I'd not count editing, unless coming with insertion of enough fresh text as to count as genuine new material (id est, enough to get above the limit). I guess, actual polishing of the text will come later, trying to do it quickly is kind of self-defeating.

And you know, I guess I'll post milestones here, like a week's work, or something, daily progress you can still harass for.  *

It counts if you want it to count.

The problem I'm foreseeing with allowing editing to count towards it is that people will edit, and edit, and edit, and obsess over the slightest mistake. Much like many other people do. d in the meantime, nothing new is being written.

Maybe if I added a limit? You can count editing for 2 days, but then you have to write original stuff for 2 days, unless you're editing a completed work?

And we should feel free to ask for tidbits of motivational/writing advice here as well... Unless that belongs elsewhere I think it does.
