Phantasia progress: Finished the part at the crypt, was introduced to Dhaos and holy shit, he just vaporized those guys. Anyway sent to the past and and that good stuff.
After the long chat session about finding Klarth, instead of going to Elucid, I head off to the cave since someone one of the villagers mentioned it (thinking there'd be something in there). I wind up in the cave, run into generic enemies and game over, not very fun. Wondering why nothing I did seemed to work so then I used then used to magic lens and yeah, wtf? That was frustrating since save points aren't exactly everywhere, last time I deviate from the main storypath. Ever.
Btw I'm liking this translation so far, although I keep forgetting about the skits and whatnot since there's no popup on screen to indicate one.
Yeah PSX Phantasia was really weird about that. Dhaos did have a fuckin ROCKIN debut tho.
Skit notifications didn't start until Symphonia. I rememver mashing select all the way in Destiny 2.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerLol wow I see.
either way I'll go get that discovery in Gust Ruins then start generally messing about with Richard a bit and do some requests. Should be fun actually.
Just a note to keep your eyes open for treasure in the F arc even in areas you are revisiting, since new treasures are available all over the place, including the legacy weapons (weapons named and designed to reference other games in the series) which are scattered throughout the F arc and are all pretty awesome (either in stats, appearance, or both). You can actually find Asbel's first one in the Gustwork ruins at the very end of the place.

Hey maybe I'll find Cless' old Phantasia Eternal Sword somewhere.
They don't reference the weapons on the game, actually, but the games themselves, usually a major plot element (the Phantasia reference weapon references the world tree, for example) or the games main screen symbol (and the names feature the name of the game in them somewhere, so there isn't really much guesswork over what references what). Everyone has two weapons, and so some games get repeated, but they are a fun way to encourage exploration.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_i.php?lb_id=13239183440B34964700 Alfric's Fire Emblem Liveblog Encyclopedia!Sounds fun. I'll have to check it out. Although I'll be hard pressed to de-equip Asbel's Excalibur right now.
Some of them reference in-game things, though. Like Cheria's Innocence knives looking like Durandal, for instance.
Song of the SirensWhat about those clone costumes? The ones that allow 4 Richards on screen for example?
The dolls? You have to fuse them, though the game gives you a free Richard doll just before the final boss, presumably so you can play as him in the main arc.
You'll need six of each so everyone can be everyone. Happy hunting!
Song of the SirensGetting doll materials suuucked. I hate random drops more than anything else. Hearts R somehow made it worse and the materials to get the ultimate armour have like, 3% drop rate. And you need 80 of them.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerOh jesus fuck its random drops again
Does Richard get any extra costumes for this arc as well or is he stuck with main arc and gaudy L&L clothes? (Or Zelos and Judas if you got them)
Unfortunately, if you want to get any more costumes for him, you're gonna have to get the DLC.
I ended up playing Xillia 2 all weekend. Mostly I just tried to fight all the EX elite monsters. And then I tried to go through the after-game bonus dungeon. That didn't end well.
Ah, balls. Poor dude.
I got Jude's Leon outfit and started another X1 file on his story as well.
Jude's Leon hair is fun. You know, if you pair Jude's Leon hair in X2 with a DLC bangs attachment that covers the other side of his face, then you can't see either of his eyes.
Oh cool. I should try to get the Day one version of X2 since holy shit Milla just looks fantastic in Asbel's outfit. Not keen on Yuri-Jude though.
Love how the DLC Tales outfits change the music too. I got Irony of Fate blaring at me when I control Jude and I get End of a Thought with Kratos-Alvin. It hink I get Conclusion with Milla-Dhaos so do I get Coup de Grace with Barbatos-Rowen?
idk, honestly. I haven't been able to get as much DLC for Xillia/2 as I would like. ._.
Ah I see. Well, I'll let guys know how it goes and all that
It was a pretty ugly fight, but I beat Peridot first try. Unfortunately, I ran out of Life Bottles, so Kor couldn't be alive at the end to celebrate. Sorry, buddy.
I really like Hearts R so far. Chase mode is pretty fun and I like how the aerial combat feels. I played as Leia a lot in X2 so it feels pretty comfortable.
Where I blog. Mostly about iOS games.Barbie plays Coup De Grace, but that song brings back bad memories so I stay away from it. >.> I like Alvin-Kratos and Farah-Leia, but Jude-Leon is bleeeh. Leon needs his swords. I'm getting Asbel-Leon though because it looks good.
I discovered something amazing today. Beryl's school costume gives her pink streaks.◊
Totally worth it.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI'll have to try that one later on then. Gonna try to get enough money to grab a Day One version of Xillia 2 some time soon
I don't get it.
One Strip! One Strip!
Sounds great. There is one discovery in the Gust Ruins I've got to find before I go any more forward tho.
