I have a 360, and I love having a friend come over to my house so we can play a game together. Naturally, we only have one console, so there is nothing that infuriates me more than seeing a game box claim to have co-op, only to find out that it means "Online Co-Op". What are some FPS games that I can enjoy with my friends on ONE console? Bonus points if the game is story-centric. So far, I know of:

  • The Left 4 Dead Series
  • Army of Two
  • The Halo Series (minus mid-level cutscenes, which annoyed me)
  • Borderlands
  • "Arcade" mode in Call of Duty

Any more?

Was Resident Evil 5 released on 360 — edit: yep, yes it was. It's story based, has some fun boss fights (including a nice dual boss fight that's fun on co-op) and a challange mode.

Gears Of War.

It irritated the fuck out of me that Crackdown was heavily advertised as a co-op game, while it was only after I bought the damn thing that I found out that yes, it was co-op... if you had two X-Boxes, to tvs, and another copy of the game for good measure.

What a rip.

Psh, what are you, crazy? Gamers never get together on the same couch anymore, everything is online nowadays! You'd have to be crazy to think there could possibly be some games that encourage local co-op!

(Sorry for the snarkiness, especially since I don't have any names to contribute that weren't already said.)

Oh, shit, Gears of War? I didn't know about that one. Does it still include the cutscenes and everything?

What about Dead Rising 2? Does that allow single-console?

Sure does.

Edit: Oh wait... you're looking for a FPS, right? Gears is a 3PS.

No, I know. Forget that I said that. I meant more along the lines of any kind of shooter. I said that as a "Don't bring up rock band" kind of thing.
