i love it when authors do this, so you should do it, yeah.
I saw the name Nora and playlist in the topic title and thought the main character was named Nick. I also thought for a brief moment that the topic title itself read as "Playlist of the Gods".
Anyway, it actually makes for a good way establish the environment.

(I would put it up on other places too, but I don't want to get in any legal tangles, so that'll most likely be the main way of distribution.)
Also, ^ funny you should mention that, I really liked that movie. I came up with the concept and the names in the third grade back in 2005, so I guess that's just a funny coincidence.
oh, that's why I need this binary mind // ⌘I make a playlist of mood-appropriate music for all my various writing projects...It's practically a prerequisite. So I say, go for it. Music is the great inspirational force...after intoxicants of course.
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~
Okay, so once I'm done with Stuck (read at the link for info on the book) I think I'm gonna make a playlist of songs based on the chapters. Strange idea, maybe, but I think it certainly fits the atmosphere I'm trying to make for the book (very movie-like and surreal, highly stylized).
A good example of this would be Chapter 25 (as of right now, might change soon) / Does It Offend You, Yeah?'s song "Let's Make Out". Here's the part I think fits it:
“Come on, how could I not be fine with that? If it’s what you want, then sure.” Nora pulled back, then asked, “Tre?”
“Yes, Nora?”
“Do you have a girlfriend?”
I froze, then sighed heavily. “No. Why?”
“Because,” she said, “I don’t have a boyfriend.”
The crowd went into “ooh” mode.
“Wait a minute.” I said. “Are you saying that you—”
“Yes, Tre. I am asking. It’s a simple question. And all I want is a simple answer. Yes, no, or I don’t know will be just fine. Do you want to go out with me?”
I thought about it for a second. Did I really want to start a relationship? I had tried to start some previously with two girls who I liked at Perdedor Square, although one vehemently said no to me, and the other one, well, I think that one kind of speaks for itself due to what happened earlier at the dance.
I really didn’t know what to say.
But suddenly, I did. “Yes.”
The crowd went wild.
Eventually some dude yelled, “KISS HER!” and started to chant, “Kiss”, then a few people around him continued, and then a torrential wave of spectators around them joined in. Soon enough the whole crowd was joining into the fray.
Heck, the producers even got in on it and started to play a song that had a rousing chorus filled with nothing but three words, “let’s make out”.
I turned to Jacob, who just shrugged.
Then I turned to the group, who were just joining the chants.
Finally, I looked at Nora, who was smiling. So I went down to the stands where she was, put my lips out, and finally just got it over with and kissed her...
Yeah, yeah I know, end of story, you’re supposed to kiss the mega-hot girl on the lips. But honestly, I wasn’t sure at the time.
The cheek I was positive of though.
The crowd went on ahead and clapped anyway.
And you know what?
It is what it is.
And I’m perfectly fine with what it be.
Wait, what?
And just to be clear, not every chapter is going to directly reference the song like c. 25 did.
So, what do you guys think?
