I like to believe that she really did have green hair at some point. Maybe first thing when she quit the military. Fuck you, I do what I want with my hair. I'm growing it long as hell and dying it green.

My headcannon is that at some point Samus has to go undercover in a futuristic bike gang (maybe the Bloody Chain from F-Zero?) or some other criminal organization. She dyes her hair green, wears that purple leotard from Metroid 1 you see if you put in the Justin Bailey code, then wears a leather jacket and sunglasses, and chews bubblegum to complete the illusion.

I don't think anyone in this thread is doing this. In fact, that's the reason I feel comfortable linking it. But I've seen it around.

I just had a joke idea for a Metroid game.

Metroid: DEMOLITION

In order to pay the bills Samus takes up an unusual work contract: demolition. Some guys across several worlds need to have old buildings leveled, and she somehow won the bidding war on the contract. Help Samus as a consultant, mapping out derelict buildings and determining where best to hit them with bombs, missiles, Super missiles, and Power bombs to ensure a stable collapse that she can stroll out of without needing to dig herself free. Unearth the occasional Chozo ruin under some of these old buildings and collect more expansions! Expose rare mineral veins that you can 'sell' to your clients!

I still haven't had a chance to play AM 2 R, but I clearly need to set aside time some day soon. It's not that often that you see a small but extremely passionate team of people turn their clever ideas into a reality.

Gosh dang it, this just makes me realize how much potential Other M had when it came to the story. Too bad about the execution.

Heck, Sakamoto originally was going to go for a Show, Don't Tell approach, like he usually does, but Nintendo persuaded him to add more narrative and exposition. Needless to say, the end result proved that that is not his forte.

Really? I thought Sakamoto really loved Other M's narrative.

I think the order of events goes "Sakamoto wasn't going to have a story, Nintendo's higher-ups pushed him some towards a more involved narrative, Sakamoto took it as them granting him to go insane."

I'm guessing the level of story the higher-ups wanted was probably more involved than even Corruption, but not to the degree of Other M, and that's without getting into the issues with the content of said story.
