I was lucky in beating Pauline on the first try due to my opponents accidentally offing themselves.

I got rid of her with Pyra and Mythra. I just spammed the strongest attacks and felt very cathartic after all the frustrated prior attempts.

I was REALLY hoping the final major update would give us a "World of Light" sequel of sorts, or at least a way for me to get the rest of the base-game spirits on a Very Easy difficulty.

That's how I got the Enderdragon spirit in 4 seconds.

I think the same thing happened to me, actually. Good thing, too, because Pauline was one of the few spirits I remember really struggling with. Dr. Wily was another.

Generally, I've found that using your strongest Legend-class spirit with at least two support slots, Viridi and the Wind Fish can conquer almost anything. Enhanced Skull Kid with Lifesteal is also insanely broken.

You can always just practice, y'know.

I beat Wily using Fox with great autoheal and pressing Down B for his reflector, moving out of the way when the Megamen got too close. Took FOREVER but it got the job done.

My original successful run for Geno I was using Mega Man and activated the Final Smash only to miss only for Sheik to run back towards the black hole. Giant Ganondorf plus spamming smash attacks is an easy way to clear a good chunk of the headache spirits.

Also had a mantra of "If at first you don't succeed, brute force it with Simon or Incineroar". Worked like a charm.

Sounds accurate to Pokemon

Considering that Viridi was The Unfought in "Uprising", her spirit battle is the closest I'll ever get to an actual battle against her. Doubly so since I was Pit.

I consider that a satisfying victory, spiritually at least.

I've done that with Little Mac and super armor spirits. Just destroys them. Unless they grab, then Little Mac goes flying miles away.

Speaking of Little Mac, Sakurai must've laughed so hard when he made him fight the Hands instead of Giga Bowser or Galleom. I bet he's still laughing.

Because its a boxer fighting a glove, or because of Little Mac's terrible air game?

He fights the Hands because the speed of their fingers can match the strength of his fists.

Fighting the Hands does feel like a Punch Out boss: dodge with footsies until a strong counter opportunity presents itself.

My artsona would fight Ganon in his Classic Mode route.

You know, no amiibo for Master Hand who has had perfect attendance in Smash is a glaring omission.

I got a perfect bonus from fighting Ganon in Toon Link's classic mode. I wish I had taken a picture of that.

You know, I just was wondering thinking back to the character reveals: why WAS Pac-Man's announcement for Smash 4 behind closed doors hours after E3 ended instead of being showcased during the event itself?

Turns out they forgot more about Pac-Man than the fact that they own the character.

What I meant about Little Mac is that his air game sucks, so making him fight two flying bosses seems cruel. I've more or less given up on 9.9ing him. That's why I suggested Giga Bowser and Galleom instead.

I love how the online mode is totally optional, as the Challenges for that don't feature rewards that include things like spirits, music or Mii costumes/headgear, if the player can't afford the service or doesn't want to play online. And considering my rather sour experience of going up against people who Curb-Stomp Battle me easily and grief at me by crouching or disconnecting to get me temporarily banned, it's definitely not worth the migraine.

Aside from notifications on stuff like winning their first online tourney, there's really nothing to gain.

Yeah, online matchmaking for Smash Bros. is all kinds of terrible.

I'm praying for Mii to make another playable appearance in the rumored sixth game.

Would've been better if the online "achievement" page just... didn't exist.

Then you wouldn't need NSO at all if you wanted to 100% the game.

Fingers crossed that if they bring back trophies in the next game, they do FAR more research. Remember when Melee's Meta Knight (or rather Meta-Knight) trophy said he first appeared in Kirby Super Star as opposed to Kirby's Adventure?
