That's pretty much how Wario is in Japan. The US got a very different style due to the ads. More or less, the US basically had a different interpretation of the character. I felt the same way, although I now know why it is what it is. I still want more WL stuff.

Also, Waxing Name is currently forum-banned, so don't expect any responses from him on anything you say at this time.

Apparently Lvl. 9 Megaman is the perfect counter to Lvl. 9 Sonic...because he just gets caught it a Forward-air + Up-Smash loop.

Is pretty funny.

Why is Waxing banned? Did he finally tick off enough people on the Zelda thread? He was annoying, but I honestly never saw him do anything ban-worthy.

As for character portrayals that bug me, I kinda hate what they did to Diddy Kong's cartwheel attack. It's the most iconic Diddy thing, but in Smash 4 they made it finish on this weird hand-slap move. It was perfect in Brawl (which also gave him a unique losing animation), so I dunno why they had to go and mess with it.

All multi-hit moves have to finish in an impact hit...so of course they changed it.

That doesn't mean I have to like it.

You can just read the Edit Banned thread. No need to talk about Waxing's actions, since it's irrelevant beyond "Oh, he won't be answering, so please don't address him".

Anyway, some of the multi-hit moves did get annoying. I like that they're far easier to get out of now. The infinites were pretty dumb and unbalanced.

As for the characters whose Smash portrayal bugs me, I'd go for Peach. Since when she attacks with her butt and behaves like some sort of slut? Also, the fact she rarely acts on her own in the Mario series is why she annoys me in Smash (if a little; at least I tolerate her more than before).

Wario, for being given those moves instead of attacks he actually does in his games (that's the only complaint I have against him, because he's one of my favorite characters, and it's the same with Ganondorf).

And Donkey Kong, Bowser and Diddy Kong, for being reduced to grunting instead of having voices (more annoying with Diddy).

Supposedly Sakurai used realistic animal noises for these characters, for a "sense of realism." If that's the case, why doesn't Pikachu sound like a real mouse, or Yoshi sound like a real dinosaur, or heck, why not any of the koopalings or Bowser Jr?

Why are you using "slut" as a descriptive for Peachy?

That doesn't seem right.

DK kind of always has grunting nowadays though.

Also your description of Peach doesn't really come off as criticism, more like you really hate her in general.

I didn't mean "slut" as in "whore", just the fact that she is way flirtier than in the Mario series is what puts me off, considering how she is in her games. But really despite that, I like her a bit, but I think they went too overboard.

So why not use "flirtier than usual" instead of a word that's got a lot of negative and sexist connotations?

Anyway, are there any news about the Smash 4 remake, or was it all made up like the Rayman in Smash fiasco?

To be honest though, flirtiest Peachy goes to Mario Strikers...and even then, it still barely counts.

Speaking of Strikers, if Waluig ever gets into Smash...

Nothing really suggests Sakurai hates him. He just doesn't find him as playable material(but he doesn't find Toad either). That's not the same thing as hating a character.

Diddy's cartwheel wasn't an infinite, nor did it have much in the way of knockback. I'd rather see it turned into a single-hit move than turned into something that barely resembles canon.

Not really. He's a Speech-Impaired Animal and makes human-sounding laughs and exclamations, not to mention the occasional recognizable word. Come to think of it, he's about as expressive as Link!

I just figured that the reason Bowser and the Kongs still make animalistic noises even now is due to Grandfather Clause. But yeah, it's really starting to stick out now, especially since other characters (including Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings) have their canon voices. I think Bowser at least should have his canonical voice for the sake of consistency with the other Mario characters.

Honestly, most of the Mario cast could do with some tweaks, both aesthetically and moveset-wise.

As much as I like Kevin Bayliss, I don't mind if Diddy keeps the squeaks, since he actually does make semi-realistic monkey squeaks in the newer games. Only Donkey Kong and Bowser really stand out for not having their canon voices, I think.

How would you guys like it if Samus (not Zero Suit Samus) vocalized more? Grunts, yells, whoops, et cetera?

Every voiced line from her would be about the baby

I mean, if it was just Alissa Glidewell making general-purposes shouts I don't see the problem.

Being realistic and honest ZSS's voice actress is really rad and probably one of the game's best vocal performances in English, but considering Metroid's writer still wants to go on about the baby in the remake despite all the criticism of it, I'm not even being sarcastic when I say that's a legitimate fear at this point.
