It's been quite a while since I've posted something there now that you mention it.

So, is most of the SSB fandom pleased with Cloud's inclusion or not?

What I'm seeing on some You Tube comments is not really people being happy over it. Some are like "Nintendo's doing this because of the remake".

See, there's the problem.

Like 90% seems to be ecstatic.

Those were mostly knee-jerk reactions to Cloud being in the game. Most people are really indifferent at worst about his presence. I'll admit, while I did accept him with open arms, I wasn't that excited at first for him, either, mainly because I don't know too much about the Final Fantasy series in general.

That said, while there were varying reactions during the Direct, I'm sure we can all agree on one thing: Sakurai definitely gave us one hell of a surprise.

Being a "surprise" when at least half of the DLC characters and most of the newcomers preceding him were also clearly intended to be a "surprise" isn't exactly a point in Cloud's favor.

Such "mixed" reactions would happen regardless of who it was though. It's the nature of the beast when it comes to any inclusion in general.

This guy basically said that Smash is becoming like MUGEN due to the amount of third party characters in the game now.

That's ridiculous. To REALLY be like MUGEN, Smash would have to have lazy palette swaps passed off as extra ch-

5 of 56+ (which equates to 8% of the roster) characters is third party and each had their own part in both Nintendo's history and gaming in general.

Anyway, can anyone help me put telling me what costumes are used for some of the extra movesets in Smash Tour? I actually have most of them marked down, but a couple are just being stubborn and not showing up;

• Captain Falcon 3
• Ness 3
• Jigglypuff 3

@84006: I wouldn't say most of the newcomers were unexpected. Characters like Villager, Mega Man, Little Mac, and Bowser Jr. were requested to be playable long before Smash 4 was even announced. Even Sonic appearing in Brawl, which caused online message boards to blow up, wasn't really all that surprising.

It probably wasn't Cloud himself being unexpected as much as the timing that threw people off. We were expecting a trailer for a ballot winner only to be treated with something different.

There was actually an official poll long before this game even ahd it's first trailer released. I actually participated in it.

Most of the newcomers I actually saw in this poll, in fact. Even Shulk and Palutena. Mega Man at the very top from the results.

Only Mega Man, Little Mac, Shulk, and Bowser Jr weren't unexpected for me.

I love all 3 of those girls....considering the large amount of avatars that I have with Sango in them.

I have Miis of Yang and Sango.

I actually did a match where I was Lucina vs. Sango Mii (Swordfighter) vs. Yang Mii (Brawler) vs. Falco

That doesn't really surprise since Sango's media of origin is Manga/Anime, probably the most niche medium out there.

I wouldn't mind seeing Yang in Smash but I know it's a pipe dream.

My fangame roster idea does have all of Team RWBY in it.

Among several other anime characters.

I think the only surprises left are characters that are owned by Nintendo's competitors or characters that did not originate from a video game, such as Master Chief, God of War's Kratos, Marcus Fenix, Batman, Darth Vader, Son Goku, Naruto, Ichigo, Monkey D. Luffy, Sailor Moon, Inu Yasha, Ranma Saotome, Ash Ketchum, Yugi, and Madoka Kaname.

Me, I'm tired of surprises, myself. I want the next characters to be of the "why weren't they there in the first place?!" type.
