Other M's Nightmare was really cool until it started making baby noises.

Fah.

Fusion's Nightmare was terrifying, difficult, and had a cool gimmick.

Other M's was... less so.

Yeah. I just liked Other M's nightmare because it had more lasers, and an overall cooler looking design (with the mask on, of course).

So, based on what I've seen, which I'm sure is not all of it...

Miis are lame, not too excited about the new Fire Emblem characters (what does this series have against playable villains?), third parties I could do without, except Mega Man, he looks different. Lucario...(why?)...Zerosuit(why?) Disapprove of MOM Armor, Approve of Hero/Vanguard Armor...all in all not seeing much motivation not to stick to Brawl...except Little Mack, he might be the reason for purchase alone. Villager, Wii Fit Trainer and Rosalina look nice too. Apathetic to Greninja (don't care for X&Y but starters have nothing to do with that), like Pit's new moves, like the look of the Dogs stage, wonder when, will probably let word of mouth decide for me if this is where I finally get a Wii U (probably not) or even get it at all. If the speed is on par with Melee I will get it regardless of anything else.

Miis had to happen. Fire Emblem does have a playable villain, or at least the closest thing we'll ever get to one. Lucario is a Pokemon staple, around Charizard levels of importance. ZSS at least gives Metroid two characters.

Which fire emblem villain is playable.

Robin who kills Chrom in Awakening. S/he was possessed when s/he did it though....

You could technically count Robin as a villain but that's very debatable.

Fire Emblem will probably never get a proper villain due to the rotating nature of the series. It's hard enough just figuring out which protagonist gets in. And Sakurai will never include a villain before his/her respective hero. We're not getting Nergal without Hector or Lyon without Ephraim for example. And if you include a villain, that's major over representation of one part of the series over other parts, so that makes it harder for the Black Knight to get in,

Granted Awakening did get two characters, but Lucina was a lucky alt costume who made the jump to playable. Villains probably aren't going to get that treatment.

You could make the villains bosses. I'd like to see Ashnard or Black Knight.

Fire Emblem isn't really remembered for its villains, most of which are run-of-the-mill misanthropic Tin Tyrants, so I'm perfectly fine with not getting a FE villain in Smash.

That and I'm still waiting on much more significant Nintendo villains.

Yeah, Ridley and K. Rool definitely need to get in before any villains from Fire Emblem do.

No, but it is a fair shot.

Or at least it would be if we didn't just get a rather meaty set of reveals last week.

There's really only 3 big gaming events between now and Kerfuffle's 3ds release. Considering they've promised "Surprises" and will have a pretty big presence at the convention it would be crazy to think we're not getting a character reveal.

In that case I'm rooting for Shulk.

Jill Dozer and the Ice Climbers

Since we just got 2 newcomers, I'm gonna low ball it and guess some Vets. Ice Climbers and Ness, maybe do a double Ganondorf reveal with Smash and Hyrule Warriors.

At every upcoming reveal since shortly before E3, I have rooted for the same two characters. This time is no different.

Nobody. They promise surprises all the time for Smash. They never turn out to be characters.

@RKS: {{ Metroid }} without spaces becomes Metroid. That's also how markup always is for single-word pages.

Anyway, if we DO get reveals, i'm gonna guess Ness or ROB since the anniversaries for EarthBound and the Famicom (or SNES, not sure) are coming up.

Really the only notable FE villain that I would chalk up to anything more than generic end of the world guy would be Arvis, and he comes from a game that hasn't had representation in Smash, at all, and likely never will.

Poor Sigurd.
