@Ultimatum: It's especially pronounced with mods, but I've had "auto-best" produce ships with like half the DPS of manually designed ships without better modifiers to make up for it.
I don't really use disruptors because their damage output is so low. And if an enemy started fielding lots of them to real effect, the logical solution is crystal-forged plating for extra hull points.
Plus battleships armed with a mix of long range weapons for stripping shields and armor before they close.
I managed to finally defeat the Fallen Empire. It was mostly about using my superior economy and numbers to outproduce them, outnumber them and whittle them down; but i also started fosuing more on bigger ships and especially battleships since I had a problem with my ships dying too early. also used a fort that increased my fire rate and increased the time until they could war away.

Khans are something you submit to and wait to die off - you don't go William Shatner on them.
I despise hypocrisy, unless of course it is my own.If you don't start close to marauders, its good idea to let rival empires from around marauders so they take brunt of attack since you can get lucky and Khan dies off before they are close enough to attack you :D
they had a wormhole leading close to my border but still were strictly speaking a quater of the galaxy away. The perfect combination.
In other news, I officially have a defensive pact with the only nation that matches me in power (and the numbers says I'm better now), my empire occupies roughly a quater of the galaxy, and the numbers says I'm starting to catch up with fallen empires. I think I'm not losing anytime soon.
I'd almost want the mercenaires to go khan once more so this time I can deal with them, but first they get rid of the half of the galaxy that is a broken mess of hegemonists imperialists that all wnts me dead but are way too weak to try anything themselves and spend their time fighting each other, but have such a mess of defensives alliances going on that no matter which one I decide to take on, I'd end up with the other big empire against me. But looks like this ship has sailed.
... What happens if a pacifist empire with which you have non agression pacts ends up in a war against you because you attacked someone it does guarantee independence ? If they don't go after me, I swear to god I'm vassalizing half of the galaxy before the endgame crisis kicks in.
Which reminds me that it's 2420+ and still no sings of any crisis. Guess no one has researched synths of jump drive so far, and I'm not gonna do it first.
auto best worked rather well for me so far. Apocalypse, or maybe 2.0 made it way better than it used to be, imo. I'm actually surprised that I haven't botheredto open the ship builder at all for once.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."So I set my sights on some neighbors to the south. Xenophobes, isolationists, aggressive as fuck to some of their other neighbors even if they liked me well enough. I broke our non-aggression pact and built up another fleet or two during the ten year truce. Just finished a twelve year war with them where my fleets stacked together for fights then broke apart to cover and occupy territory. The main fleet played blocker in the northern reach while the sub fleets broke off and swarmed the south. Then they all worked together to conquer the north bit by bit. It was like climbing up a cliff, moving one limb then another and making sure we had solid footing. But by god we did it! Ideology war won, we're just waiting for another war to sizzle out before Federation time.
You just gotta watch what it's definition of "best" is. I saw my fleet power go down after an upgrade, and it turned out all my corvette interceptors had been converted to picket ships. Not terribly useful when I'm fighting Void Clouds, game.

Current earworm: "Mother - Outro"So, if you haven't heard, Charles Curtis will be gone in the upcoming Kaiserreich update and the new compromise candidate will be Floyd Olson (a Minnesotan with similar impact on his state to Huey Long's impact on Louisiana), at least so long as the Democratic, Republican, and Progressive parties can hold the union ticket together until the election
So is the idea with the new update that instead of having separate Republican and Democratic candidates, the new update just has one guy representing the 'old establishment' against Long and Reed?
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Oh, no, there are separate Democratic and Republican candidates. However, with the threat of the populist Socialist Party of America and the America First Union Party, the higher-ups of the establishment may attempt to form a coalition ticket with populist progressive but explicitly not socialist but also not so better dead than red candidate Floyd Olson (who was a similar, if less corrupt and more explicitly left-wing figure to Huey Long, and he similarly left a lasting impression on his state of Minnesota (Olson is why to this day, Minnesota is very progressive). However, this coalition is unstable and could easily fall apart before the elections in November, or may not even form, in both cases leaving separate Democratic and Republican tickets.
Personally, I'm more hyped for the Latin America reworks, especially Brazil and Colombia. They're also finally going to change the portrait for Tsar Vladimir III◊.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Podcat revealed some more details for Man the Guns, and fuel is, indeed, not restricted to naval operations. It also affects tank and air combat.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Thought it would. Tanks and stuff need gas after all.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Knowing Paradox they'll find some way to handwave the fuel shortages of the Wehrmacht anyway, but it'll be funny to see them cry when they stall on the Eastern Front because their Panthers are out of gas.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Ya know, with Distant Stars I think we need to eventually update characters page with specific characters you get from events. I mean, there are some really distinct things that happens in events even before distant stars
No reason you can't be the one to do it
Well yeah, I'm not best at articulation though so that triggers my self esteem issues
It also will make a number of different countries easy to conquer; if you don’t have access to oil, you can’t build tanks and planes, which leaves you at a huge disadvantage.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I mean you would think that mastering your biology could lead to some interesting events or gameplay mechanics, but I guess not -_-
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnI think there need to be more radical exclusive traits for Bio Ascended empires like "Nerve Stapled". It would also help if you could clone your templates in the same way you build robots so you don't need to keep habitats full of single species to seed from and have overall more control of your population.
New DD for CK 2, focusing on the Bloodlines feature from Holy Fury.

And holy hell, I think they are redoing the character UI.

Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. In my current Stellaris playthrough, I've annihilated the awakened empire (I like to think there was some general on the Celestial Throne rallying his troops for an epic last stand while the officer of the ISS Worldeater (Colossus) calmly says "fully charged? You may fire when ready.") and the Extradimensional Invaders. Nothing can threaten me now, so I'll slowly release each of my vassals, wait for the truce to end, and launch my Great Crusade. The galaxy will belong to humanity. Time to scourge and purge!
I do wonder what is percentage between players who play peacefully, warmongers, purgers, and slavers among playerbase .-. Like is there actual statistics on that?
Got it memorized. Won't be for today though, I loaded an earlier save a good ten years in the past before seeing this post and since then those assholes haven't made a move. But the second I'm done with my rivals I'm coming for them. At least if the endgame crisis doesn't come first.
