Paradox Games

Anyone post this? I can't look at the last two weeks worth of posts :p

Since it's not Paradox devoloped, just published, I think we decided that it warranted its own thread.

In Kaiserreich, the nation-formerly-known-as-Transamur (now the Far East Republic) has reclaimed much of Siberia. Now I'm in a mad rush against the Internationale (which curbstomped Mitteleuropa, though the British autonomists have left themselves weak to the Entente by spinning off Scotland and Wales), Finland, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan to claim as much of Russia as I can. Absolute priority is on the capture of Chelyabinsk and Yekatarinburg, which I need to core all this Transuralic land and advance to the part of the focus tree where I can become Russia.

Ah, so the thread is only internal developed?

Yes, otherwise we would have been talking Mount And Blade here while Taleworlds was still with the company.

And if games that where just published by Paradox were included, this would also be the thread for Pillars of Eternity, Cities: Skylines, Steel Division: Normandy 44, the upcoming Battletech video game, and Galactic Civilizations II to name several other externally developed, Paradox Interactive-published titles, so I think the evidence does support making a separate thread.

Sort of - they have the generic tree plus focuses to reclaim the rest of China.

Alright, tried a Mongolia game. Got screwed out of a significant portion of the Ma Clique's territory by Tibet because for some reason despite me doing the lion's share of the work, my war score wouldn't allow me to take over all of its territory. And then, for an even bigger kick in the teeth, immediately after Russia, Japan and all of their puppets declared war on me.

Ouch. I was in a similar situation in one of my recent games, and I was lucky enough that China got off its butt and decided to drown Russia in their bottomless well of troops. Of course, China then decided to pick on me as well...

We are Transamur no longer, and nor shall we bear the transitionary title of the "Far-Eastern Republic", no, we are the Russian Republic REBORN! The reactionary forces of the Empire flee before our mighty armor, including the new T-44MS, T-120BM, and soon the BT-20 will replace the obsolescent BT-10M that makes up most of the Russian armor corps.

At the same time, our mutual enemies in the Third Internationale push towards Moskva and shall be swept aside along with their notion of a "Soviet Russia". Alas, the Entente still insists on standing in the way of the restoration of Russia, and won't give me such a convenient excuse for war as the Entente (translation: Jerkfaces are occupying Petrograd and I only hope the Syndies beat the city out of them). However, the Great Patriotic War will not be stopped so easily as the so-called "Second Weltkrieg", and if Mother Russia must make an enemy of all of Europe to do so, then Russia shall spread democracy from Vladivostok to Lisbon. And yet, there is still the elephant in the room: America, divided between as-yet unaligned Syndicalists and the dangerously Entente-leaning Pacific States. Surely, our interests do not clash, and yet, almost as surely, one or both will drag this out for years longer than is necessary.

EDIT: I may have undersold the Entente, who have started kicking ass after the WKII losers joined up with the WKI losers, since Germany reintegrated all of its African colonies and gained cores on the whole kit and caboodle without the kinds of penalties the French Africans get and grabbing all that focus-generated industry from something like 15 different colonies. Of course, it doesn't hurt their case that they're attacking in the west, while I fight the majority of the Entente in the east.

EDIT EDIT: Also, I get the impression that KR France is a beast. Like full-on Big Blue Blob tier.

HOI4 Dev Diary - Czechoslovakia and AI Update #2

Still annoyed about Yugoslavia not getting their own voice lines - as if anyone besides the crazy nationalists would be pissed if they used Serbian voice lines.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.

Well the crazy nationalists were what broke Yugoslavia up in the first place.

The possibility of an Eastern Entente is interesting, though.

I mean the legitimate France in France, not the Petainist dictatorial rump state. The only reason the Entente is getting anywhere is because of a combination of suddenly gaining all of Germany's colonial African manpower (again, full cores on all of former Deutsch Mittelafrika without the kinds of penalties to recruitable population that Petainist France faces) and the fact that the AI cannot into front prioritization and that Communard Germany doesn't actually seem to have anything to fight back with.

In other news, Qing is blobbing all over China, and I really look forward to them removing German influence in the area so I can relatively freely DOW the Entente, though now that the PSA has joined, I should really rebuild my navy.

Playing Road to 56:

After unwisely deciding not to get rid of Adolf, due to a large loss of national unity and the potential for a civil war, I begin the process of rebuilding Germany, eventually getting to one of the main industrial choices.

Technocrats: Yo, civilian products n trade are the way to go. Build our economy back up.

Autarks: ARMIES MAKE ONE GREAT DEATH TO OUR ENEMIES-

Because I wanted to play a semi-realistic Germany, I picked the Autarks.

One economic crisis later, I am constructing civilian factories largely, just to keep up.

Then, Italy asks to join me way ahead of schedule.

After a bit of pondering how likely it'd be that I'd be saving their behinds, I sided with them.

Meanwhile, Japan targets China, who is declaring war on The People's Republic of China, along with setting up war goals against Siam.

China decides to prioritize the other Chinese factions over Japan, who has been doing nothing but military and industrial focuses.

China falls within a few months, being pupeteered into Reorganized Nationalist China.

The USSR gasps...and looks in the other directions, presumably fortifying their border n such.

Both Britain and the USSR have their sights set on Iraq, who has their own focuses thanks to Road to 56.

They tell Britain precisely where they can put their imperialism at, and become communist.

Turkey managed to get Iran into the Sabbat Pact, and France decides to form the little Entente, halting my plans at 'helping' Checkslovakia/the name of that guy

Poland does the Baltic Sea alliance, while annexing Laterveria.

Norway turns communist, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Ireland all turn facist.

The stage is set in Europe, as Iraq joins the Comintern.

Then, Italy decides they want Greece, and Greece joins the Allies/Britain and all of the little countries with British flags on em.

I decide to set Italy up with a lend lease, while asking Austria to join me.

They say no, but they don't join any other factions.

Now, Road to 56 has specialized versions of special forces n more focuses.

One of these special forces is the shock troop.

Blitzkreig focus aside, these guys are fast.

And I just happen to have the Blitzkreig land doctrine.

As the Austrian army slowly moves upwards into Germany, their capitol is taken in less than a month.

One surrender later, Austria is now German land.

It is at this point that Yugoslavia, Hungary, and Denmark join me.

Italy, meanwhile, is fighting against the Allies and the Sabadat Pact, while Russia begins claims on Poland.....

Wow, that sounds like the best timeline. When (if) I get HOI 4 I'm so getting that mod after Kasierreich.

Speaking of Kaiserreich, I started another new game, this time going with Ireland. Starting slow so far, just getting our economy and army revitalized and taking care of domestic issues.

Nice, my only interaction with Ireland in kaiserreich is conquering it as the Union of Britain.

Neat, most of the information has been revealed but it's nice that it's in one place for people who don't religiously follow the subreddit or Wiz's twitter.

I'm glad that they're re-vamping the AI Uprising. That's one of the most interesting ones, but it becomes boring when it's just "Destroy their capital world and tiny fleet and then deal with years of random buildings being nuked".

Kinda hoping the Covfefe system seen on Twitter isn't just a gag and actually gets added to the game.
