It's also possible that King Piccolo is deliberately keeping Gast on the defensive, so he doesn't have a chance to copy him.

I think most of this comic should've happened in reverse.

King Piccolo and Vegito's introductions should be switched, have Vegito revealed at a much later point. Broly should'a stayed on ice. Give every other universe at least a "little hope", rather than have most of them stay despite Vegito's overwhelming display of power. Hand Vegito fights like Gast's, so that no one really knows what's up.

Vegito and Buu could still fight in space.

Yeah, none of these fights really matter, because they're just godmonsters way more powerful than the protagonists we actually care about that stomp everyone, or the fight will be close, but it won't matter, because they're inconsequential next to the godmonsters. No one cares about the actual tournament, they're just waiting to see how everything goes to shit and for the characters that matter to actually get challenged.

I don't know. After all this time, Piccolo's reaction to King Piccolo just seems silly, especially with Gast right next to him in the ring.

Yep, telling them not to move will definitely keep anyone from trying to get to the dragonballs in broad daylight. It is not like anyone has messed with the controls before, and we have had the best track record in making sure everything goes smoothly
