Gast seems to be enjoying this a little too much. Though I suppose any do-gooder would get some satisfaction from successfully seeding doubt about their opponent's morality into their mind, and actively encouraging them to embrace the light side.

Either way, there's no real way Piccolo can win at this point.

Gast: "Yes. You're good, you know it! Accept it! Embrace it! GAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Seriously, his evilness while he's supposed to be good just cracks me up.

I am now imagining Gast as a Not!Palpatine.

I wouldn't even call it a reference, given how blatant it is.

I didn't expect this at all, given it was stated early on (in one of the Salagir's side comments, if I remember well) that the Lord Slug movie (and most others) was non-canon for DBM. Not that I care, and this is anyway the only way for Piccolo to do something.

Oh neat, Piccolo has a way to gain the upper hand.

That was surprising. One-in-a-million odds that King Piccolo would face an overwhelming enemy with the same weakness as him, though.

...How did King Piccolo ever learn to whistle anyway? I mean, it's not exactly hard, but it's definitely a skill that needs to be learned. How would he ever be able to practice until he could produce a sound consistently if he'd cringe in supposedly unbearable pain every time he got close?

And why would he even think that he needed to go through all that trouble?

He ripped his ears off every time to practice? Maybe he figured out his own weakness and learned to bear the pain of having his ears ripped off just in case. He might have learned how to use that weapon while ear-less.

Or maybe he just wanted a way to discipline his "children."

Yeah, maybe this is just me being incredibly naive, but that really just brings up the next question: how was he able to know he succeeded in his practice if he couldn't hear the result? Nope, does not compute, Sephiroth demands a different explanation for this bullshit.

I sure hope not. Well, it's an Ass Pull, definitely, but I do hope it gets some explanation.

Go walk up to Piano or Tambourine and see if they fall over in pain. I'm sure a guy that's killed that many people knows the difference between fake pain and real pain.

@Kayeka in the manga, God was stronger than Daimao, so that gives Daimao a reason to try and learn it himself. The fact that he'd need to hurt himself shouldn't put him off learning it because it'd be the only edge he'd have.

He could easily practice it on his children anyway to avoid harming himself. Dude's a dick.

I mean. There's a difference between sounds you make and sounds you hear. You have your own skull for resonance. Like, ever listened to your own voice on a tape recorder or voice message or something? Sounds kinda different.

For example, when you yell really loud it doesn't affect your own hearing, but it can affect the hearing of people around you.

...I haven't heard of studies of singers in rock bands and their hearing though. Like, I know people that attend concerts can have hearing difficulties, especially if they get into the mosh pit near the singers and the speakers. Don't know so much about the singers themselves though. I mean, the speakers are turned away from them and stuff.

But yeah, this was a smart move.

Well he tore off his own ears so I assume he would still hurt himself, but I still don't see it as an obstacle to ~learning~

I don't see it as an Ass Pull, and it's nice that he could do something that isn't totally out there. I don't expect it to last as Gast should be able to tear off his own ears, unless it's so paralysing he can't manage that much.

Why doesn't he pull off his ears, like the other?

One of them looks like Edward Elric. The one behind the Doctor looks like Urdnot Wrex from Mass Effect.

I recognize the Tenth Doctor, Catherine, and a Mass Effect alien.
