Crazier still was that Cold's existence wasn't as well-known as his sons' was.

Maybe they plan on Cold making the first move, and Gast just wants Vegeta or Cui to suggest a location that he might conceivably destroy first.

We were still in the middle of the Vegeta/Raichi fight, right?

Don't be ignorant.

Man I love Cold's expression.

That spy thing is quite exaggerated. There was nobody left alive in Namek to inform of Frieza's death, other than Vegeta and Cui, whom I don't see doing it (I don't think Gast would have given them the chance, and it would be a bad move for them anyway). Despite this, Cooler already knew of Frieza's death.

Do we have a trope for this, when espionage works too well to be believable?

[up]Looks like somebody forgot about how Cooler found out about his brother's death in the movie, when there weren't any spies there either.

They probably just have a transmitter in their heads or something.

That would explain how Cold managed to find Frieza amidst the wreckage of an entire planet.

[up][up][up]Scouters double as communicators, and spies don't have to be physically present to qualify as spies (I'd bet a distress signal is sent up every time a Scouter goes off the grid/is destroyed). That first fact set off the entire Frieza saga, after all.

On another matter, was Cold on Kami's lookout just now? We know the humans never got their wish due to Gast's fusion, so maybe taking them over became easier without the Earth Dragon Balls, Goku's SS transformation or Vegeta's allegiance to help fend off Cold (still doesn't explain the Androids, which should exist in this reality since Gast is purported to have killed Cell; which level of Cell we don't know).

And a bit of Fridge Logic regarding Frieza's ship: in the Gast special, we see him reading minds to get the Earthlings' exposition out of the way. And now he needs those two to fly for him?

Hopefully Cold will be in his perfect form when we run into him so we get a good fight. Gast can't be at Buu's level yet, can he?.

[up][up]I don't think so. Cold had no reason to go to Earth since Goku never killed his son. Probably just a balcony on his palace or something.

As for the mind reading perhaps it gives you memories but not training to go along with it. Like if there was a problem with the ship he could have Vegeta or Cui fix it. Maybe he'd rather they fly the ship for him for whatever reason. Or maybe the ship just needs at least 2 people to operate it.

Geez, the art in this chapter is amazing. It's something to get used to, but, wow.

And it's funny to still see Vegeta and Cui still being Gast's bitches.

If you had creative control over Dragonball Multiverse, how would you write/summarize the different universe teams and their characters? Any you would change? I would, for a few.

For reference:

  • Universe 1: Supreme Kai and fellas killed Bibidi, prevented Buu, and effectively dominated the universe.
  • Universe 2: Any other characters that aren't directly related to Dragon Ball, but penned by Toriyama. Rule Of Funy.
  • Universe 3: Bardock thwarted the Saiyan genocide; Raichi slaughtered the rest of the Saiyans in turn, and teamed up with Tapion, helping him master Hirudegarn.
  • Universe 4: Majin Buu absorbed Goku and Vegeta while they were inside him, becoming the most powerful fighter in (his) universe.
  • Universe 5: K'see/XXI. Identity unknown, but Elder Kai is afraid of him.
  • Universe 6: Bojack and his gang stomped all over the Z-Fighters and continued their rampage; a Magical Girl group has taken up the fight against Bojack.
  • Universe 7: Nail, Guru, and the entire (remaining) Namek population fused into a Super Namek, Gast Carcolh, who went on to murk Frieza, Cell, and possibly Buu or Dabura.
  • Universe 8: Krillin killed Vegeta on Earth, and Vegeta's absence gave Frieza the victory on Namek. Frieza never did battle with a Super Saiyan.
  • Universe 9: Krillin, and a bunch of other human fighters, have become the strongest powers in this universe - of note, Yamcha, who is the new "Android 17", and Videl, who wields the Z-Sword.
  • Universe 10: Frieza was killed and never conquered the Saiyans, leaving them as primitive, world-mongers. Nameks avoided the initial catastrophe that swept their homeworld, and developed reliable space travel.
  • Universe 11: Babidi never lost control of Majin Buu, who along with Dabura are at Babidi's command.
  • Universe 12: The "timeline" of Future Trunks, with #16 activated to help humanity rebuild.
  • Universe 13: Goku never hit his head, becoming the destruction Saiyan he was meant to be. Raditz picked him up, and together, Kakarot, him, Nappa, and Vegeta defeated Frieza and took over his empire - Vegeta and Goku even became Super Saiyans out of the deal. Vegeta appears to be the strongest, being a Super Saiyan 2.
  • Universe 14: A "Bad Future" split from Universe 17, see below - Trunks left THIS world for Universe 17, but was killed during the final battle with Cell and never made it back. Thus, 17 and 18 were never stopped.
  • Universe 15: I'K'L - in this world, an alien child is the strongest fighter, and there are no apparent Z-Fighters.
  • Universe 16: Vegito never defused, and became a space cop for the Kaioshin, even being revered as a god. His personality developed as he dealt with threats such as Hirudegarn, the Immortal of Pandora, and surprisingly enough, starvation. He fathered Bra with Bulma, who became an aggressive young fighter. He also trained Pan, who became a Super Saiyan.
  • Universe 17: Cell won, preventing Trunks from returning to Universe 14. So, technically, this is Cell from "Universe 14" - but let's just say U17. He became much stronger than his Cell Games power level - strong enough to overwhelm Bojack, and even Dabura while holding back.
  • Universe 18: Ten years after the end of Dragon Ball, the manga, with the characters we know and love. Uub and Videl are here too.
  • Universe 19: Heliotes. Some aliens who came from a dying world, represented by a group of warrior-techies with tech that can hurt Buu Saga Z-Fighters. Basically OC Tuffles.
  • Universe 20: Broly, if he survived the events of Broly Second Coming by not crashing into the sun.

Minor note but the fight with Dabra isn't meant to prove anything about Cell's current strength, because he was fighting at the level he was when the Cell Games began, and he was already holding back during the Cell Games. Mainly it was about showing where Salagir placed canon Cell in relation to Dabra, since they were directly compared when Gohan fought Dabra.

Anyway I had some ideas to post but it's late here now so maybe tomorrow~

I liked realistic Vegeta. Interesting style.

I forgot about the last Gast special. How did Gast get Vegeta and Cui under control?

EDIT: Cell was always better than Dabra even if only by virtue of Cell's regeneration. Dabra was at Cell's power level when Cell was defeated, but if Cell hadn't been able to heal, many of the injuries he sustained would've killed him.

Similar to Buu. He wasn't really that powerful and if he wasn't able to heal, he would've died long before he got to make Super Buu (If nothing else, Vegeta's suicide would've killed him).

I bet King Cold is mocking the child alien. The timing matches way too well for him to lose control right as he said that.

I question this "original form" stuff. If it's so unstable, how the hell have they managed to survive long enough to consciously create lower powered forms to suppress their powers?

Meditation.

If you want to look at the anime, Goku put Chi-Chi in the hospital while attempting to master the Super Saiyan state, but he still did it.
