Or perhaps contraception isn't 100% effective.
Power corrupts. Knowledge is Power. Study hard. Be evil.WHAT?
:P
Dumbo"6B"
Ah, this was a good episode. Though the fraying of our universe is certainly concerning, there is much more hope for a kindler, gentler solution now.
Also, the red-side bit at the end showed us an important side-effect of the amber- people's worries about quarantine are materially hobbling Fringe Division's efforts.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?Ooh, I didn't even get that.
DumboWhat do you mean?
Power corrupts. Knowledge is Power. Study hard. Be evil. The husband lied about there being a Fringe event because he didn't want to get Quarantined.
DumboWasn't just the husband; didn't they say that nobody in the building seemed to know anything? Which makes you wonder how many other weaknesses go unreported...
(Isn't it convenient that the soft spots are all located on the Earth's surface?)
Looks like next episode is another '80s piece! Hope they trot out that theme song again.

Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages? How do you know all the soft spots are on Earth?
DumboRed-side doesn't appear to have had any issues with vortexes forming in space/the mantle, at least.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?Again......how do you know? I don't think they'd care about Vortexes in Space enough for it to come up in the show >_>
DumboThat was a powerful episode. I love how Fringe connects stories together with symbolism, like how Peter wanted to go home while Olivia just wanted to get away, and they met in the middle. Good child actors, too.
It's fascinating how Walternate has limits that Walter doesn't. He wouldn't experiment on children in another episode, and he won't let Olivia get abused. And it's all because of what happened to his Peter...
And the score has been fantastic these past two episodes.
We're not just men of science, we're men of TROPE!Walter was the one that wouldn't let Olivia get abused. Walternate certainly abused the grownup Olivia (though he probably would have protected the little girl Olivia).
And yes, "Subject 13" and "Peter" are two of the most powerful episodes, despite only one member of the main cast being in them (John Noble).
Awesome episode. The child actors were great.
Have both Love and Fear ever been in the mix when Olivia crossed over before?
Dumbo"Os".
Well. That ending scene was... interesting. As for the molecule, does the way it works count for Good Bad Bugs?
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?Did switching between universes work for you?
My interest fell after season 3 opener, "Olivia". Switching every other episode to a different world/characters didn't work for me. I didn't care about the alternate characters. I was clock watching 'til they ended the two bad Olivias storyline.
Glad they ended this arc. Now my interest is coming up.
Just curious, what did the alternate versions do to lose your interest?
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?I like this universe's version of Lincoln Lee. I hope he becomes a recurring character.
I really liked the switching between universes. So many shows have flat villains and would just make the alternative universe into a sort of throwaway world. Getting to know the people in it, and seeing them as decent people, gives some sense of Walternate's point of view.
It makes it harder to decide who's a hero and who's a villain. Arguably 'our' Walter has caused more deaths and done more harm than Walternate, if we consider him to blame for all the cracks in reality in the other world.
Most of my issues with the show are plot twists that showed up after Olivia got back to 'our' world (making the love triangle central to the fate of both universes; Fauxlivia being sufficiently incompetent to get pregnant while on a covert operation).
Again, contraception is NOT a sure method. Shit happens, people get prego.
Power corrupts. Knowledge is Power. Study hard. Be evil.I liked the two universes, and seeing both of them in depth, but I really won't be sad to see the end of the storyline... especially since the shiny renewal for season 4 means there's so much more for the writers to get playing with.
ಠ_ಠlol, it's true.
I am loving Fringe so much right now. Especially how the Alterverse characters, who were initially just villains to me, have become so much more sympathetic. I mean, Walternate is the only consistently BAD one, and even he's got understandable motivations.
Increasingly, the alt Brandon is the one I'm most concerned about.
(Lincoln and Charlie are on the track to figuring more things out? Things are getting fun...)
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?I hope Lincoln and Charlie team up and go over to the other side. Well, okay, Lincoln can stay behind and raise Baby Bishop with Bolivia, and Charlie can go to the other side and hang out with Nerdy Lincoln and Olivia.
I'm incredibly amused how our world's nerdy, initially kind of out of his depth Lincoln was from the Hartford office, seeing as I'm. y'know, kind of from there. The line near the end of "Stowaway", "It's a lot more exciting than Hartford." ...so true! It's almost as if they live here or something, they get the joke that we're always making about ourselves. (Actually, I don't even think there is an FBI branch in Hartford IRL, it's just that unimportant.)
And everything else that's going on is great too, but that's more amusing to talk about.
