Because Sarah's issues with Elliot are real problems. Take the magical girl part out, and you'd have an every day issue that PLENTY of people have. It's insulting to trivialize it by blaming it all on the magic part of it.
The fact that Grace made this leap in assumption, and is treated as being right IU just annoys me on two levels.
And to a certain extent, communication can't solve everything. A good relationship also runs on body language. For instance, if someone had something wrong with themm, their SO obviously wouldn't know what was wrong until they told their SO, but chances are they wouldn't say anything unless the SO asked them i nthe first place.

Read my stories!I've been in this kind of problem before. I had no idea just how bad I was at controlling my temper, until my girlfriend told me she was going to break up with me unless I got my issues fixed.
Issues can get that bad, and the person with said issues can be that oblivious unless a sufficient shock to their system is delivered.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Temper is not the same as taking initiative. The ways to deal with them are very different. Not wanting to take initiative is a neutral trait, while temper is kind of negative. There are millions of ways to deal with initiative, but they all depend on what the other half wants.
Some people WANT someone they can do everything they want to do with. Other people are fine with doing what they want 80% of the time, and forcing the other person to pick others. And you have the people who want others to be the one to always take initiative.
Etc. Etc.
It has nothing to do with obliviousness. It has to do with the type of person Sarah wants in a relationship, and if Elliot is really that guy. There are some people who are very much "I will assume everything is fine and dandy unless you tell me the exact issue and what you expect of me." and that's ok. But clearly, Sarah doesn't want to date that type of person.

Read my stories!I just want Sarah to break up with Elliot and for Elliot to hook up with Susan :P
Why? Because she's hotter, that's why!
Also Susan is more controlling. She might actually be a better match.
Read my stories! That, and Sarah contributes nothing to the plot.
Well, she can go on being Tedd's test monkey.
Read my stories!Sarah is a bit boring, but she acknowledges it and wants to be something special.
Which could be an interesting character if done right.
But...not here.
Actually, Sarah's a good argument as to why her type can only be the main character. Anywhere else and they take up space.
Read my stories!...
...
Since Susan isn't real, and I know she'd do this if she were... *Grabs a giant hammer from hammerspace and hits you with it.*
Yeah, Sarah's just... bland. I don't like her much.
Susan actually has some (accidental) chemistry with Elliot.
Was this linked? I didn't see a link. Did I miss the link?
Douch, I hath been hammered.
And not the fun kind!
Well, it's better than "ermahgerd relationship probz" at least.
Weren't you gonna go on a hiatus, mallard?
Read my stories!I was, but no-one posted the comic before this so I posted it and I thought there was going to be an Ellen/Nanase spy teamup or something.
But now I see no need for a hiatus. Most, if not all of the relationship nonsense with Sarah is gone. Hopefully.
Given Shive's usual style for this sort of thing, there probably is. Just not right now.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.See, if I go on a hiatus, this thread will fall behind.
Just because you read the book doesn't mean you understand the themes of the book.
/boring nitpick is boring.
Read my stories!I love how Tensaided's all like: "MONEY!" in that last panel.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The Steve thing made me smile.
I'm reading his expression there as a "My Star Trek films! Let me show you them!" than any sort of business sense. Guy seems to put is values as a devoted geek over practical business.
"The marvel is not that the Bear posts well, but that the Bear posts at all."
How so?
Also Sarah keeps making me sigh in frustration. "I WANT MY BOYFRIEND TO BE MORE ASSERTIVE AND I KNOW HE CAN DO IT BECAUSE HIS MAGIC GIRL CLONE-SISTER-BABY DID IT, EVEN THOUGH I SHOULD DAMN WELL KNOW BY NOW THAT SHE DID IT THROUGH ENTIRELY DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES."
"ALSO WHAT IS TALKING?"
