I seriously wouldn't mind it if they made a redo of R2, telling it the way they originally intended before the whole time slot change.

I thought everyone like R2 for what it was well besides a few things >_>

I felt meh about it seemed like a different show than season 1.

R2 was all right. Not as good as the first season though.

at the time it was airing i thought r2 was a huge disappointment barring the ending.

nowadays i'd probably be more critical towards season 1 too but that wouldn't necessarily make r2 any better.

I think people liked all the unintentional memes it created at the time it aired.

memes are usually unintentional i think.

but yes, people enjoyed the so called "trainwreck factor" as it was airing, memes included.

as in they enjoyed it in how *bad* it was, not because it was legitimately good or anything.

R1 was better than R2, but R2 had the better and more fulfilling ending by far.

I remember seeing a review once where the guy said that it felt like R2's ending was what the writers had planned all along, but the rest of the season was basically being made up as they went. Which given what R2 is rumoured to have originally been about and what it actually turned out to be honestly makes sense to me.

i also agree with that assessment, the ending was by far the best part of r2.

I agree as well. Everything about the Black Knight betrayal was a massive Wall Banger, but the story suddenly got tighter and the overall quality of the rest of the season was better.

I did not like the ending world peace no more problems in a span of flashfowards what is this Naruto?

Well unless it's brought up in the ova's it could be like Naruto where one off villains show up and get beat....

The OVAs are set between the first season and R2 though.

According to the trivia page, there was supposed to be some twist where Jeremiah's niece, who looks exactly like Lelouch, would have taken his spot as Zero and Lelouch would have joined the Black Knights properly.

Sounds kinda dumb to be honest.

Yeah most of the "original" R2 sounds too outlandish and dumb to be real.

That being said they mentioned they had to basically rewind the plot and start over for a few episodes because it moved to a new timeslot and they expected new viewers, and that kind of looks true since he goes back to school, Suzaku comes back to it as well and they kind of have a replay of the first season for a few episodes. But that was done by episode 13.

I would not be surprised if they wanted R2 have none of the plot and just be a regular slice of life school anime.

They planned on revealing more about the nature of Geass, Suzaku's connection to it, and Kallen's family in R2.

Shame a Rebuild of R2 would be nice or perhaps a third season showing us a new perspective like someone in Britannia who tries to protect it going against the story of CG which was Britannia is evil and must be destroyed.
