Well somebody clearly had budget issues.
Hell of an ending though, it's just everything before that which I had trouble with, I was actually so disconnected that I kept alt tabbing to both here and the polandball subreddit.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ Cyran...Wait, budget issues? Really?
...Is it wrong that I've missed the bad effects?
the shifting castle looked pretty darn good imho..but yeah this smelt of double banking
" I did the right thing, didn't I? It all worked out in the end." "In the end? Nothing ends, Adrian. Nothing ever ends."Doctor Who thrives on low-budget. Always a plus.
Noticed plenty of Sherlock tropes in there.

Just watched the episode. I felt it dragged on. I kept thinking "when is it going to end?".
Let them light torches and sharpen pitchforks! Their tears give me life.
Where I watched the episode was missing the Next Time trailer. Now I found it. That looks exiting!

Set the controls for the heart of the sunThis episode is going to be an iconic one which will go down in history I'm sure.
I was certain of the twist from the point of the dry jacket waiting for him, but the reveal was still very satisfying as I hadn't clinched everything together.
In terms of character, it's a very satisfying display of mourning, and also it is rather brilliant in showing the Doctor having a childish strop.
I honestly don't know how anyone can't think of this as a three parter.
When I realized that he was punching through the wall of diamond with his goddamn bare hands fractions of millimeter by fractions of millimeter during every one of his lives I lost it.

That ending was... quite something, wasn't it?
But- if the rooms reset, why did the damage the Doctor did to the diamond stick?
I guess that it must not have been an absolutely perfect reset, or else none of his skulls or dust would be hanging around either.
Sure they do- the flower petals teleport back, the grave gets filled in, the window gets unsmashed, etc.
Ah, right. I mean. I know the clothes are there by the fire because the previous 12 leaves them there. So I guess I assumed everything else was reset that way as well.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.I recall him saying all the rooms reset save for room 12.
We! Are the Crystal Gems!Wow.
Okay, that was pretty damn good.
Anyone got a link to the next time trailer?
Edit: NVM, found it on You Tube.

Oh God! Natural light!Well, we may never know how many licks it takes to get to the centre of a tootie pop, but.....
He still seems unhappy.
Can't imagine why. Not sure what the point of this was, but it was enjoyable, especially near the end.
One Strip! One Strip! Not so much a three-part story as three stories that lead directly to another not-quite-freestanding story.
But then Moffat likes two-part stories that are actually completely different from one to the next.
The Doctor Who Tumblr reblogged a post that was all YOU GUYS ARE NOT READY FOR THE ENDING IT IS SO UNBELIEVABLE and it seemed to be talking more about the Hybrid, but really I think the Bird wasn't nearly as inevitable.

Fresh-eyed movie blogWell, I mean most 8th Doctor fans saw it coming from a mile away.
We! Are the Crystal Gems! The reveal was very well done, I'd predicted the twist, but not it's purpose, so the subversion of 'this is all going to plan' was very satisfying.
I find it funny that the fable quoted in the story was one that I'd just read days earlier in the XKCD book. Interesting little coincidence, although of course the fable itself predates either source by ages.
High in the North in a land called Svithjod there is a mountain.
It is a hundred miles long and a hundred miles high
and once every thousand years a little bird comes to this mountain to sharpen its beak.
When the mountain has thus been worn away a single day of eternity will have passed.
Quite fitting, wouldn't you say?

"How many seconds in eternity?"
My brain is crying. Oh, Doctor. ;_;
TWO BILLION YEARS. Holy shit, I loved this episode very much.
From the'next week'section, it looks like we might actually get looms lol.
Anyways that was a pretty great episode. Last week and this week have really redeemed an otherwise pretty meh season imo.
