I don't have plans for the Doctor, though! And I do wanna save flashbacks and side-stories for when we legit don't have folks.

...also, y'know, if you want Ellie written out so you can play someone less beholden to leadership (which if I recall you've been eager to do), PM me and we'll work something out.

Also also, I'd be open to starting a second session every other Wednesday for folks who still want to do this despite the one-shot mishap.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

I might be willing to join another game. I mean, I'm entirely willing, it's just that I don't know if I can. We have three people in this house and only one non-tablet computer with functioning Internet. I'll have to ask my mom if I can borrow it on Wednesdays.

Also, I'm gonna start working pretty soon, so I might not be able to do Wednesdays, for all I know. Haven't gotten the schedule yet.

...I think my favorite thing about that damn Logopolis essay is figuring out who all the characters are.

I'm really looking forward to that book.

I should go to bed now.

I wouldn't mind seeing a spinoff group with unnoun, Laura, Locksley, and others. Though time zones for those three would still be tough.

I'd like to dip my toe into your Whoniverse game somewhen, but currently my roleplay glands are fully dedicated to the sprawling five co-existing World Of Darkness campaigns.

(Speaking of which, myself and the chief GM are both massive Doctor Who fans and it can really be felt through the setting. I consider the plot I write to be RTD with an infinite budget)

On the topic of the Master, I always thought Moffat would be a writer who would understand what Arch Nemesis are about. They only need to have an ideology which fundamentally change the ideology of the protagonist. While Tennent was trying to run away from the devastation of war, Simm couldn't comprehend an existence without that conflict.

In Sherlock Moriarty isn't an unbeatable villain; of his three appearances he only wins once; he works well a an arch nemesis though not because he employs a similar level of genius as Sherlock, but because he's employing it to prove Sherlock's smarts can't solve everything. He's so effective in Boliva and Fall because he creates a scenario where Sherlock's smarts get him into a personal problem of ideology.

That raises the question of what aspect of Moffat's Doctor's could a Master figure latch onto to fundamentally challenge. Arguably the major part of Eleven was his relationships with his companions. This is perhaps why the Dream Lord feels so much like an iteration of the Master, because it's a character created to attack the Doctor's ideology that his companions have freedom from him. Madam Kavornia also felt master like in this regards, but she was perhaps intended to be in a small way Amy's arch nemesis rather than The Doctor's.

Yeah, I'm doing it for folks who aren't in the regular game and can't be due to fear of overcrowding or because Sundays are busy or whathaveyou. If I let folks from the weekend game into the Wednesday game, than that's less space for new folks.

And it's gotta be Wednesday because it's like the only day I have remotely free for this sort of thing during the week.

Has The Editorium Guy written an article on Fan written/produced content? Because as we sit here talking about our Doctor Who inspired RP Gs I realise what a big part that is of my Doctor Who experience.

Would it be cliche to say that, since the Doctor is now played by a much older actor, that I'd cast the Master with a much younger actor?

I was just asking, since Older Hero vs. Younger Villain is a thing and all, seeing if anyone else thought of that idea.

Was Delgado's Master a mirror for Three in any particular way? I know Simm's Master was pretty much explicitly "Ten, but more insane and also almost as more evil."

I have two theories about why the Master kept coming back after he had become a pale shadow of himself (After he wouldn't stop wearing those black tights from Logopolis)

1. The writers just assumed since he'd been successful in that one entire season and in Deadly Assassin, bringing him back would leech off that success somehow.

2. Anthony Ainely was really fun to be around on set. I get the impression that he at least enjoyed that job.

3. He was a very popular recurring character, and that sort of stuff was JNT's beard and butter.

I mean, that's why the Cybermen continued to be a thing.

Cast members have described having Ainley's Master as the real star of the show who was watching these Doctors and Companions just passing through.

That ties in with my idea, that Ainley was just someone they really liked having around so they brought him in whenever they could. Happens fairly often in TV world.

Less with trying to make villains scary, more with making them interesting.

6 people is sufficiently low to not damage my faith in humanity.

That Rory vid is just good enough and it disconcerts me.

This hypothetical Wednesday thing, what time would that be?

He's the Doctor. He could be anywhere in time and space.

Just saw the new episode. A bit disappointed that Capaldi did not swear. Otherwise it was ok. Not as well done as the Eleventh Hour' but not bad.
